whats the best manual transmission

hi i am looking for a manual transmission for to put in my 1986 ranger and i was looking at the info in the tech library on the manual transmissions that where put in the rangers and i was woundering if anyone knows what the strongest and best transmission of the following toyo koygo 5 speed , toyo koygo 4 speed ,mitsubishi 5 speed ,or the mazda m50d 5 speed ,thanks

+1 m5od-r1 is the best.

For what you're doing though, any ol' m5od will be more than adequate.

thanks for the replys , by the way whats the difference between the mazda m50d and the m50d-r1 is it just that the m50d-r1 is a newer model

The r1 is the model that came behind the 4.0 engines. It is supposedly a bit tougher and has a higher gear ratio for first and second gear,.if I remember right.

thanks thetopher , i think you are right i herd some where that a version of the m50d had a higher 1st and 2st gear , by the way its a stuiped question but how is the mazda m50d stronger then the toyo koygo and mitsubishi trannys ,thanks
