Whats the best battery?

There is no ONE battery that is adequate to the task...

No matter how great, fantastic, high-tech a battery you get it's no comparison to TWO of them.

Frankly I don't have a winch, but if I did I would run multiple batteries.

On a 1993-94 (which I have) it's literally childs play to mount a second group 65 battery under the hood.

hands down the yelloe top optima is the best i had one that was 11 years old before it died but when a optima dies its all over

With all the battery testing that I do in a day. Its really amazing what batteries do not pass a test but still have enough power to crank over an engine. Had one on a 2000 F-250 PowerStroke. One battery was completely dead (< 1V under load) and the other one passed the test. And yet it still started okay. Thou the owner should really see an improvement in the winter when he now got 1600cca packing power instead of that just one 650cca battery.

FYI: When testing a 12v automotive battery under a 300A + load. A strong battery will not drop below 11v. A barely pass would be 10.5V for a 550cca + or 10.25V for anything smaller than a 500cca. 800cca tend to linger around 11~11.25V under load. But all batteries when the load is taken off should quickly return to 12V or higher.
