What's first?

Maybe I should have a mod move this to the right section since it is no longer about b2 or explorer....

^^^ ok
I moved it to
trs photo and video galleries> your garage> off-road rangers under construction.
PM if that's not good.

Are there any issues or drawbacks to using this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-1996-F...fits=Model:Ranger&hash=item3a7e6a82f2&vxp=mtr as opposed to poly spacers? For $40 it seems like a great deal

$40 may be a good deal....but the "washer mod" will still be way cheaper and will give you the lift you want/need....but, whatever you do, stay far away from the Poly ones...

as for the Warn hubs...get them at Advanced Auto, or whereever carries them near you....why I say that is because they will warrenty them in the store for the first year....which is good if ya blow one....

good luck....

Good point on the washer mod, I was thinking they needed to be welded but I guess not.

As far as the warns, good advice. I'll have to look into it. But I hate paying taxes, and I have a feeling they aren't going to price match online prices. Any thoughts there?

Semi update, the "cirkit boss" auxiliary fuse block came in, planning on doing fogs, some lighting for the bed and whatever else comes along through the block. Factory bed carpet on its way :D along with an led light strip for brakes/turn signal/reverse lights. Need to order some various cab seals, driver door, rear windows... not sure what else yet. I have a leak I believe from the third brake light I need to figure out... headliner gets soaked when it rains or I wash the truck.

Been eyeing an eBay lift, has front coil spacers and rear add-a-leafs, would this level me out and provide a little lift? It comes with the necessary hardware it appears. Seems like a reasonable purchase? I decided I don't want to get too crazy lifting this truck, its my daily and I don't want mileage to drop too much, along with things like drive up windows and ATMs remaining accessible...

Here is a link for the level kit/lift http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-1996-F...Ford|Model:Ranger&hash=item20c424985b&vxp=mtr

1" of washers under the coils 2" body lift trimmed fender enough to remove the flares weld the rear axle and rock 35s. Then after that you can work on gearing etcc

Lol sounds bad ass, but remember this is my daily driver. It goes to and from work, the store, the gym (ha!) etc etc. The builds goal is a capable camping and light 4x4 duty truck that I can be comfortable in >every day< . And I definitely don't want to spend a small fortune on tires. 33 will me my max tire size desired. The fenders I'd really like to stay away from trimming. I wouldn't care about trimming inner liners, but not the sheet metal.

That was my dd lol and my gfs ranger is getting the same setup we both drive near 200km one way for work but yea i know it isnt for everyone

Haha nice. Ya, this is my "comfort and utility " vehicle. I have a wrx that's loud, uncomfortable, and gets bad mileage for when I'm in that mood lol

Got the bedrug installed today, snapped one quick shot before the sun went down

As an added bonus, the bedrug has substantially reduced noise from the rear of the truck  I have yet to do any highway with it yet but I feel pretty certain the reduction will carry over

I'm planning on getting something like a Rubbermaid Actionpacker to keep in the back, and to keep it in place I think I'd like a "load brace" type device to keep the box or other cargo up against the tailgate. I have a hard time with spending 40-??? Money on the things so I thought "what about a shower curtain rod?" Any thoughts? Seems like it should be able to keep enough pressure against the bed to hold stuff during normal use. I thought of maybe even doing two, with some kind of webbing stretched between them. Any ideas for something like that?

Action packers are great. I have one stuffed with recovery gear, spare parts, fluids, and survival gear that I keep in my explorer, I've used it countless times, and will toss it in my ranger every time it goes out on the trails. I just use a ratchet strap across the factory tie downs to hold it in the rear of my ex, and on the ranger I'm just going to weld some tie downs in and I'd recommend that you do the same.

Right on, good to hear about the Actionpacker. It seemed pretty tough when I looked at one yesterday. Sounds like you are using it for the purpose I intend on too. I found some pretty cheap load bars http://www.ebay.com/itm/390560420242?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I think I might go that route for versatility. I may still do some tiedowns but we'll see.

I've been struggling with ideas on where to mount some dual CB antennas (antennae?)... anyone with a topper have some ideas? I was thinking of just mounting to the sides of the topper near the cab, but not sure if I need to consider a metal location. I don't really want to drill into the cab. Previously, I was wanting to do some stake hole mounts, but with the cap I don't think that will work now.

Mini update I suppose, I decided I'm going to go with "fender" mounts for the antennas, the kind that sits between the hood and front fender.

Also, I bought a Thule M.O.A.B. cargo basket with the extension. It's used and I think I'm going to recoat it with rattle can bedliner. Has some lights mounted to the back, he didn't ever hook them up but they look like they should work fine!

Lastly, ordered two all red (except reverse) tail lights marked as "fits 2000" but if the pictures are accurate, they have three bulb holes so I should be in good shape without messing with the two bulb conversion

Well nothing super exciting just yet, but here's a little something at least!
