What's a good way to WEIGH your Ranger??

I did mine at a stone quarry. Believe it or not, the quarry near my house has a free scale with a digital display that is certified by the county to be accurate +/- 50lbs. That is what we used to get the weight of our home-made trailer for regestration. The quarry charges $5 or $10 to get it on paper which we had to do to get it's regestration.

1. Push a piece of the posterboard under a tire in front as far as it will go and another piece of posterboard behind the tire.

2. Measure the gap between the two pieces of posterboard.

3. Then put the posterboard under the sides of the tire and measure the gap.

4. Measure the tire pressure.

5. Multiply the first two measurements (the distances between the posterboards) to get the size of the tire's footprint.

6. Multiply the size of the tire's footprint (its area in square inches) by the air pressure (its pounds per square inch).

The number you get from these calculations tells you how much weight that tire is holding up.
7. Now do the calculations for the other three tires.

8. Add the results from all four tires together.

This Meathod should get you a good weight within 50-100 lbs or so, just thought I'd through that out in case you are board lol. :D

i just go to the local farm elevator. even when they are closed you can stil drive on the scales and see the digital readout thru the window.

+1, that is how I get my tractor dialed in for pulling. Ours has the digital readout on the scale itself. Be sure to pull into the middle of it to get a accurate reading though.

thats one nice thing about the midwest. the scale at the elevator is on all the time. roll across it at night when no one is around and see how much a car full of people weighs. they also dont charge anything during the day if you need to weigh a trailer.
