What would you Do?

i changed one on my old 94 ranger in about hour an 45 mins .. so i would figure for a 4x4 it would had few hours

lol not sure where you got 5 grand, i was thinkin 1 to 2...but thanks for the help with the slave cylinder. Now gotta go get the old girl outta storage

anything else i should replace/ check while i got her torn up?

lol, sorry i misread it. actually if your gonna tear it apart you mine as well put a clutch kit in it if you got a lil cash and its an old clutch. $250 for kit

If you dont, check clutch line for leaks and clean inside of bellhousing and input shaft before putting back together.

oh and your gonna have to go to a parts store and get a tool to remove old clutch line. Its only a couple bucks unless your buying a new line for 90 bucks at ford

Dude, 1 4x4 Rangecon conversion, 1 stockish 4x4, and a blown K5 are enough for you right now!

hahaha it isnt for me, i have a buddy who is looking for a ranger or b2. he saw it when i was looking at it at school and asked to to check it out for him. the k5 is on its last legs i think.......its eating tranny goo like crazy.....but hey its all good it ain mine lol its my dads. i got the 4x4 conversion and the stockish one but hell one can never have too many rangers:woot:. even sadder is im in my late teens and can proudly say that:icon_rofl:

if you replace the tranny do a rear main seal, maybe a throwout bearing, starter and maybe a clutch/flywheel. thats what i would do, might as well while you have it apart. why put it all back together then have something blow up and have to yank it all back out ya kno? good luck on getting her driveable again. who knos maybe we could meet up and go wheelin:icon_thumby:

You can swap the rear housings on them?...that makes me feel a little better, because for my model i can't find anything for under a grand, but maybe would have better luck with a 2wd.

I'm not exactly sure what wrong with the trans either, just wont go into any gear, even when truck is off/clutch pushed in, so it may not be as bad as i'm thinkin.

P.S.

Hey Colorado guys, know any good junk yards up north?? i'm in fort collins.

Thanks for all the advice so far

No I don't think a 2wd will work. Well maybe? I say this because blew out a gear in the transmission on my truck and I found a 2wd replacement from this guy and it was the exact same in every way long bed, 2.8 v6, same year, everything except it was a 2wd and the output shaft was like 2" longer then the one off of my original transmission and the T case would go in till about an inch. But that was also a TK5 not a M5OD or whatever yours is.
