What wheel choice for '93 SPLASH, now that 14's are rare?

Truck needs new sneakers but 14's are not available. This is not a creampuff or show truck, but a real working utility truck.

Which new 15" rims are available/ affordable to replace the current 205-70 R14's?

Being a Splash it should have steel 15" wheels...
If it's a 4WD it would have 15" alloy wheels

My 93 splash had 15” aluminum deer hoof wheels. It now has some cheap steel wheels. 15” are plentiful. 5 in 4.5” lug pattern with about 4” backspacing is what you want. There’s more info in the tech library.

If you're replacing wheels because of the scarcity of 14" tires, I'd skip 15's and go to 16 inch wheels, 15's are getting less popular, too.

Check out Car-Part to see what is out there. They have a link with pictures as well as one without. It is usually easiest to get rims from another Ranger so you don't have to worry about backspace and usually hub clearance but certain models have a smaller hubs than others. So, pay attention the RWD and 4X4. RWD usually has the smaller hubs. Buying from a junk yard is usually going to be the cheapest option but the rims are usually not going to be perfect. If you want perfect rims, you are going to pretty much have to buy new.

The default steel wheel would be a 15x6, have a look under the truck at the spare, the Splash wheels are 15x7 (chrome steel or alloy), if they appeal to you there are 2 versions of the steel wheels, the older is that in the photos, the later (98+) is a spoked pinwheel design, a little more attractive and can still be found. The tires mounted to the steels were 235/60r15, the 4wd were 235/75r15.

They have become very unpopular. Therefore fewer tires are being made for them.

15's are the new 14. Not sure you can hardly get a new truck with a 16 anymore either.

I was perfectly happy with 15" & 16" rims on the Ranger. If I could have gotten them on the 2019 with the packages I ordered on it, I would have. Sadly, I had to go with 17". Now that it has been a couple of years, I'll start poking around for 16" that might be available without paying through the nose via the dealership.
