What was your 1st car?

A 1993 Explorer

My mom bought it new, sold it to my aunt in 2000 or so, then we got it back last year for me to drive until we could find a good deal on another car.
My aunt has her explorer back now and I'm happy with my ranger :D

My first car was a 1980 chevy 'vette! That car was bad ass!

OK I'm full of crap, it was a chevy chevette 4 door, and it wasn't bad ass at all.
But it got me from point a to b. I gotta brag on it a little bit though. That car would flat plow through some mud, no kidding! I'd get that thing wound up in second gear and let her eat! That car caught hell. The retainer clip that holds the brake pedal to the master cylinder shaft fell off and I of course lost my brakes. I plowed into the back of a brand new honda accord going 40mph, still had 30 day temp tags on it! My insurance went through the roof.

my first car was a 81 monte carlo with a 454bb..31''slicks and skinnies on the front...
bought from my cousin who worked as a tech at jim patterson's..
1st week on owning it ...it got ripped off at a gas station cause my dumbass left the keyz in the ignition...and yeah i got a ticket for that when the police showed up...
when the cops found it the rims and system where gone...so i picked it up and took it home...next payday i got new wheels and tires(new/used) and another cd player and cheapo speakers....next day sitting at a red light the person in front of me had their car in reverse and slammed into my frontend when the light went green..her reverselights werent on so i had no idea...dont know to this day wtf she was doing..icbc claimed it her fault so it was covered...
Now..when it was done at the body shop i got dropped off and picked it up...and rolled out....5 mins before i got home...i got t-boned by a f350 daully who ran a red light....yeah same day...i never even got to truly drive this car,,..it was sweet though fast and sexy looking.
hows that for a story to tell....lol what memories lol

Damn!:shok: You and that car were just not meant to be!

mine was an 85 bronco xlt 302 bored 30 over gt 40 cobra heads 38,s it was a beast

1st car was an 1989 Ford Probe GT. 2.2L 4, Turbo, 5 speed manual. Took it out rallying on the tank trails. If I knew then what I know now...
2nd was a 1988 Ford Bronco II. 2.9l V6, Mitzu 5 speed, 4X4. 30K miles in 9 months doing pizza delivery with both heads split! Sad part is I never had a chance to take it on the tank trails since they closed off the base after 9/11.
I have done this round twice now! :icon_rofl: 2 '89 Probe GT's, and now 2 '88 BII's. Wife says no more of either. :icon_rofl:
Mix in there 2 GMC Sierras, 2 Dodge Rams, and we have a matching pair of '88 HD Springers... think I have a thing for pairs...and somewhere in there is a 2002 Dodge Neon all since Y2K.

1st car was a 1989 chevy camaro i bought for $730 on ebay only had the 2.8 and an auto. i bought it the day i turned 15 did some body work to it fixing the rust ran around it in with the folks while getting my permit. five days after getting my license i was with a buddy who owns a chevelle and was giving me shit about my 2.8 litters of fury so i was crusing and got up to around 100mph and he said he didnt think it could do it so i floored it and the pos downshifted into 3rd gear at 100mph the tach wrapped around stayed at the peg og 7 grand for a good 10 seconds and i nailed the brakes drove home and slowly developed a tick and while going to the movies that night the damn thing started staling when i stoped so i had to power brake at all the lights to keep it from dying. dad picked me up at autozone where it kicked the bucket all sorts of pissed off. got a new engine for free swapped the same 2.8 into it sold it a couple months later for $800 and with that money and some money from the dealership i worked at i paid $1500 for my truck still owe my dad the other $500

i still havent had a first car. i dont want one unless i can put it on a 4x4 b2 or ranger frame

the first car I ever owned was a 1966 Chevy Caprice with a 350HP 396 engine. It was a powerglide trans when I bought it but I retrofitted a
TH400 into it.

that car would eat camaros for breakfast lunch and dnner,
but the sound that engine would make when the vacuum
driven secondaries opened... that great pause and that
roaring-sucking sound as it sucked the Amoco card out
of every wallet within a 5 mile radius....

I eventually blew the engine, I left two pistons at the tops
of their bores and broke the crank... made a real mess...

I replaced it with a 69Mustang notchback that I only
had less than a week before it was stolen and wrecked.
Someone simply couldn't deal with the powerband of that
351-4V engine, I sold the engine for more than twice
what I paid for the car.

I replaced it with a '68 Dodge Dart GTS 340
The only time I've ever been to a drag strip I took that dart...
13.35@121 was the SLOW pass of three passes
My good pass was 13.23@123.
I probably could have cut the ET, but I was having major
traction problems, the suspension was set up for carving corners
not accelerating from a standing start.

My 1994 Ranger was my first vehicle. I paid 250 for it and all it needed was a radiator (I found that out when it ran out of coolant and cracked the head:icon_twisted:), but a new head and 50,000 miles later its still going strong.

the first car i drove was a 2.0 1992 toyota corolla

my first car was my ranger i own now i bought it up in richmond indiana the year i got my learners on vacation at my aunts house (i live in miami, fl and always have i was visiting) it was my ranger and a white early 90's f-150 with purple interior i chouse the ranger cuz it was black and looked cool (i had no idea of the gold mine i found a year later i discovered i only wanted fords from then on and that i would never drive anything other than a pickup truck:headbang:

'74 Mustang II with a 4 speed I got in '83

I still miss that car. It came from an elderly man in great shape, cheap. I drove that car for four years in college and it had almost 200,000 miles on it when I gave it to my girlfriends brother when I went into the Navy. He drove it for 2 years before the body gave out due to rust (we lived in upper Michigan). The engine and tranny then went into a Pinto for 3 years, then into a Pinto wagon. Unfortunately, the backyard install was bad and the tranny went to hell and sent it to the junkyard. That was probably the greatest 4 cylinder drivetrain that Ford ever made. I know the Stock Car guys at the local dirt track love it for the amature class (4 cyl. American cars).

"400 bucks"-First truck 88 Ford Ranger 2.9 liter auto "stupid auto" she ran for 275k then the trans took a dive....... still have it parked in our truck graveyard drove there under it's own power. No self respecting girl would ride in it with me in HS, except for my first love, good times, I may keep that toolbox forever haha.

"500 bucks"-First car 84 Camaro R/S..... driven 50 miles and turned into a parts car for my z-28, the 305 lives on in my step-dads 72 Chevy!!!! it's a plum goofy setup. quadrajet gets him like 18mpg though.
"1,200 bucks"-I got a red t-top 84 z-28 the following week and have been using parts ever since.

"1,200 bucks"-Then I bought a 72 Chevy 1ton dually flat-bed, sold it to my dad for what I paid when I realized I was averaging 6mpg loaded or empty and it wouldn't run fast enought to get on the interstate safely......... (chicks loved this truck, I am not even kidding) once backed into a teachers driveway after a mild suspension and smoked the tires inside her carport at 2am.

"Free!!!!"-Graduated HS and my dad gave me his 97 ranger so I could get to college safely.
I've been through 3 sets of tires since LOL prolly 120k miles later.

"My soul"-Then I graduated college and bought a Dodge Diesel dually..... talk about getting a guy in a mustang to crap their pants at a stop light, It topped out at 120, but was over a thousand lbs of torque spraying water meth..... 66/71 turbo, garden hose nozzle injectors LOL, dual disk sled pulling clutch, 7ft ladder bars, 150gph fuel pump, few other go fast items. I launched it in 3rd gear 4wd at 40psi boost.... would smoke all 6 tires till it finally hooked. sold it for a loss to buy the 04 Ranger

I've had others just none worth the mention.... and a car my ex left wth that I was thinking about last night, some never ran at all, I just love vehicles!!!
Now I just have my current ranger fleet, and a drag car.... looking for another 4x4 toy.

Frank
