What was your 1st car?

1957 chevy powerpack 283 cubic inch. I was 17 and it was 7, but we were a good match. ah, the memories made in that car. traded it in on a 1963 chevy impala when i married my wife of 44 years. good trade.

Boy, just in the last two posts, seen some I'd love to have! First car was a '48' Dodge Coupe, three on the tree, fluid drive and weighed in about 4200 lbs being powered by the mighty 90 hp straight six flat head. High school graduation gift from my folks, $50 cause GrandPa couldn't drive anymore. No hp but had the gearing and torque to go thru a lot of Winter snows. Loved it of course. Had the under-dash gas fired heater - try that today! The faster you went, the colors on the spedo changed from green to yellow to red. Push button start that is coming back. The vacume wipers sure sucked.

My first car was a 1984 Ford Ranger 2wd 4 speed manual with the itty bitty 2.0L. That little truck was about as gutless as they come and had bad gas milage lol, but I still miss that old truck. If I could find it and buy it back I would. I think that little truck is what got me stuck on Rangers.

the first 1956 Ford 2 door in 1965
next 1957 chevy 283 w powerpack
next 1956 chevy convertible with engine from previous 1957 which was rolled 4 times
1984 rangebone stock 4 cyl it is gonna get a 302

Oh that's a nice car.

My grandpa has a 47 New Yorker with the 302 straight-8.

I have driven it 5 miles in my life and almost broken my wrist driving it 3 or 4 times.

I also spent 6 hours working on the brakes, the day before my wedding, to no avail.

Did yours have those stupid Lockheed dual wheel-cylinder front brakes?

Ok, I'll bite...

My first car? Uh.... well, I never owned a car.... I started on trucks (I've always been the practical sort).

My first truck was a 2000 Ford Ranger supercab xlt 3.0L, 5-speed, 2wd. Bought it brand new in 2000 (prior to that I was driving the family vehicles and on the search for a suitable vehicle that would pass my dad's approval.... for some reason he didn't like the 89 reg cab Ranger I found with a 460 wedged under the hood.... lol). I loved the truck, put over 85,000 miles on it before I slipped on an icy road while in a hurry and got into an argument with a tree.

I haven't been in a hurry since. Tough way to learn though.

I still have the truck, I've thought about repairing it, but despite having most of the parts I need, the stuff I don't have is the expensive stuff (need around $700). So I had this crazy thought of finding a Ranger in good shape around the same vintage that needs like an engine or something and just swap mine over.

My second vehicle was my 88 Bronco II, which was a bit of a POS. But I still love it (which reminds me, I really need to talk to Zman about his junk BII).

Then I got the following vehicles:

89 choptop that I'm building into a playtoy (it has been road legal until the windshield got smashed by a falling branch)

86 Bronco II that I bought for parts for the choptop (still have most of the truck though)

89 Bronco II Eddie Bauer that I fixed up, drove for 2 years and sold (wish I wouldn't have done that, I miss the truck)

89 Ranger reg cab (bad frame, stripped for parts)

95 F-150 4x4 (my current DD/work truck)

Supposed to be getting a 94 F-350 that needs a motor and a 91 Ranger supercab that needs a motor. Now I just need money and time to fix it all.....

First car i got was a 62 falcon when i was like 8 $200 project car, left it in texas when i moved to michigan and it got crushed on me

First vehicle i got was my 86 ranger, dad paid most of it and i paid what he couldnt, gave $600 for it

First vehicle i actaully paid for was a 96 F150 Eddie Bauer with the 300 i6 and a a 5speed manual. I miss that truck

First vehicle titled in my name was my 88 BII gave $300 cause the trans was shot, rebuilt it drove it 30 miles and blew 2 freeze plugs out and drove it 3 miles with no antifreeze. Had water in the oil so i bought a van and tore the bronco down and found out it just blew the intake gaskets
