what was the last ALBUM/CD you listened to...

Huh? My last three albums played were Without a Whisper, Us and Them, and Sound of Madness... Shinedown is a damn good band :D

and that album Title is "Leave a Whisper"

Other thread "Take the music survey" started by mattpresley

He was unhappy with my pointing out that he named "The Vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots" as his favorite vocalist but didn't remember his name...

Don't mind me, if you wake me up at 4am and scream "what's your piece Number" I'll rattle off the Serial Number of a Garand I lugged around boot came nearly 30 years ago before I'm even awake, and By the time I AM awake I won't remember you asking or me answering.

anyway he called me a Fag for liking Shinedown which according to him had only one good song.... according to him "45"
One good song that he had heard mabey
Much more likely one song he liked that he KNEW was
performed by Shinedown...

I cheat... I have a Satellite radio so anything I hear on the radio
is identified by artist and song title on the display.
So when I hear something I like I can poke one button and the radio will remember that artist/title so I can go and buy it later...

Oh yeah my bad... I only see the track titles on my truck stereo so I butcher album names from time to time...

I gotta say, how can you call someone a fag over a band, yet they like one of the slowest song that band plays? :icon_confused:

So was I.

But I remember the album titles from editing id3-tags.
I make my own compressed mp3 files, and prefer to have the tags a consistant format rather than automatically generated ones that aren't formatted like the ones I make.

Which boot camp?

USCG TRACEN Cap May.

Not a pleasant experience.

I bought Sound of Madness and I regretted doing so. I haven't heard every other song Shinedown's made, but their older stuff definitely seems to be better. Fly From the Inside, 45, Save Me, Burning Bright, and Crying Out are good songs. They all seem to have more feeling than anything on the new album. But then again they got a new bassist and a new guitarist I'm pretty sure.

The three tracks to give another listen to on Sound of Madness are:
"Second Chance" "If You Only Knew" and "What a Shame"

None of them are albums I can listen to over-and-over back-to-back
but I can listen to all three of them all the way through, which is more
than I can say about many other albums...

and yeah, the third album has a new guitarist and drummer

Only Brent Smith(Vocalist) and drummer Barry Kerch are original to the band
but since the primary song writing was Brent Smith with an outside songwriter...

Anyway, currently playing:
Smile Empty Soul - Smile Empty Soul

Next up: Staind - Chapter V

I've been listening to the Sound of Madness almost constantly lately, love it for some reaon... but I just put on Soil on my iPod so I'll be listening to their four (I think they only got four) albums for the next week or so...

I've heard Second Chance way too much on the radio and I hate it, If You Only Knew is decent, and I like What a Shame, but I was disappointed because when I bought the album I expected it to be really good because of some of the reviews I read were really positive, so I was kind of let down. But it's not terrible, and Brent can sing. :headbang:

Led Zeppelin's "stairway" was overplayed for decades, but now
I am actually beginning to like it again.

Granted far from my favorite Zep song (that's a toss up
between "Tangerine" and "Ramble On"), but still...

Anything overplayed gets worn out.

I personally don't like "45" because radio played it to DEATH...

Today is "Hair Metal day" for me,

Currently playing Warrant's "Cherry Pie".

Most of the new music they play on the radio sucks in the first place, though, so I just don't like listening to the radio because they play crap songs over and over again.

Regardless of genre, radio is pop music. And pop music is worthless.
I always say that the best bands are the ones the masses never heard of.
I love listening to music by people who make music because they love it. Not those who make music for a paycheck and fame.

Actually, pop music is not what we like, but it isn't crap. It's music nonetheless. All those great classic rock bands, were the pop music of their day. It just happens.

I've tried listening to broadcast radio since I got a satellite radio (Sirius)
and I find it simply impossible to go back to broadcast.

Three Days Grace - "One X"

Hmmm....good point. While I'm still sticking to my guns, I totally agree with you about the great classic rock bands. :icon_hornsup:
