For metal as thin as a fender, I find a Sawzall is a noisy PITA. I've seen people (Todd) use a grinder and it is much smoother and quieter, also faster.

i use a grinder with a cutoff wheel, with the larger wheel its easier to cut through the thin metal and get the curves u need
