What the heck is up with the start up?

A whole lot of reasons, but the one at hand is that videos ALL come up as a big "play" button.

It's also 1/10 the weight of IE. It has MANY fewer bugs. And Firefox 3 has some very interesting plugins/extensions.

Only thing I dislike about Firefox is its incompatibility with my realplayer add on. I can't download random videos off youtube and songs and such from sites. :(

Otherwise, it's the best browser I've used so far.

How can I argue, I'm not inflexable. I'll give it a shot.

Thanks,
Jay

I disabled the autoplay.

I wondered how long till this thread happened, I hang out on the main page because of the 'recent' 15. I like the cool videos Jim!, but I dont think I like autoplay.

sweet thanks Jim, I really appercatie it.

The FLV files? Safari has that capability built in. But it's current versions only support Windows XP+. I tried to install anyway on 2000, but failed to register a Javascript DLL. There are BETA versions that do work under 2K, but they're... BETA.

FireFox is more standards compliant (but it still has it's CSS "hacks"). IE 6 & 7 make web development a real pain in the ass. Everyone is trying to do everything in pure CSS, but all tend to handle different situations a little differently. I will say that IE 7 is better than 6, and I suspect IE 8 will be more compliant than 7. Opera has come a really long way as far as being compliant, too.

You got my thanks as well.:icon_thumby:

I hadn't run into it yet myself, but being able to view the pages in serenity is definitely appreciated (I know the Tech Library page had a video box on it too)

Safari = Fail.

Safari = Fail.

It works fine. You must hate it just because it's an Apple product :rolleyes:, it's kind of obvious that you've probably never used it before. It's not the browser I use for "surfing", but I have to use many variations of browsers for testing, including on Macs (not everyone is using Windows :)).

No, I used it for a week or so after it popped up along with an updater/installer for Itunes/Quicktime. My oppinion of it is that it is worthless.

thanks jim! i'll probably still watch that video a couple times but not every time i go to trs.. 2-10 times a day is just too much of even a good video like that one.
