Yea ha ha thats the problem, I got a good deal on this truck till I realized the guy who sold it to me changed the oil not with oil but with stop leak, and then a month later the tranny turned into a large paperwight. I then got an excellent deal on a parts truck with 75 000 km, and swapped the entire engine and transmission, and am working on putting in the nicer interior from that truck... so I don't want to get rid of this one that I know is now mechanically very sound and risk the whole process again

a good limited slip 2wd on good size (31" or better) offroad tires (not too aggressive, just like a bfg mt. great for dd) can do some really impressive stuff in the hands of a good driver. it sure would be a hell of alot cheaper, too.

you can find good, running, 4x4 BII's for $1000 on craigslist. that's close (maybe a few hundred more) to what it's gonna take to make your truck 4wd. then you gotta install everything
