what size is the pitman arm nut 89 b2

It has both standard and metric because you've bought the utter BS that Ford is an "American" company (or indeed that such a thing really exists).

When you make the suspension in Ohio, the transmission in Japan and the engine in Germany, you really should expect to have some metric bolts in there.

The later models went all metric, as did nearly everything else.

hmmm good to know... not that i like it, but good to know

i always though it was retarded that 80's fords had standard and metric mixed in everywhere.....why couldnt they just use one or the other, i dont give a damn which, they just shoulda made there damn mind up LOL

The big 3 in the 80's had metric and standard on the same vehicle because they were slowly changing over to the "world standard" of metric.

1 and 5/16" is what I've always used.

Yep, 1-5/16 here for every RBV I've worked on too.

I got a 1-1/4" to work on by '95, I found the "loosest" 1-1/4" wrench in the shop, I had to tap it onto the nut with a hammer, but it did work.
