What should I replace my 84 with!

I purchased my Ranger 28 years ago an have come to the realization that the bitter end is in sight. The Ranger will have to be replaced within the next few years.

Any thoughts on what I should repace it with? (seems like Ford wont be supporting the Ranger platform anytime soon in the US) Would prefer a truck that is mid sized and has manual transmission.

I would cry after having a ranger for that long and needing to replace it. Considering the mileage the new f150s are getting.. maybe you should look in that direction

How original is it?

As far as a replacement, it's a dying category. What about a used 2011 Ranger?

I would look into getting a newer Ranger (Sport 4x4 4.0 5 speed, but that's just me) for a daily and rebuild your '84, cause chances are it is just going to end up in the junkyard, and I know you don't want to see that, or at least I wouldn't.

If I had to go to something other than the Ranger it would most likely be a Dodge Dakota. Had a '92 that I got almost new and had a number of years. Really liked that truck. I like the mechs of a Dodge as they are similar in thought to a Ford. Chevy - not so much.
