I have a 97 2.3 5 speed 2wd and I want to put a locker in it. Not a full locker...one that will allow the wheels to move at different speeds around turns to avoid skipping... Old what would be best

All lockers unlock, either automatically or manually, that's the definition of a locker. You're thinking of a spool or welded diff.

Lock-Right.

How much road time does your truck see? Most lockers worthy of street duty are built for the 8.8 axle and I assume you have a 7.5 if its the stock one behind the 2.3L. I ran a lock-rite before and it does its job but is one noisy bastard. Everyone will look at you like your axle is about to explode! haha, the powertrax no-slip (what I run now) rarely makes a noise (and when it does its subtle)... but you won't find the no-slip for a 7.5" axle. If you have a really big wallet upgrade to an 8.8" axle AND run a selectable locker so that you can unlock it at your will for road duty and choose when its engaged for off road.

this is on road use only...no off road
