What lift would you rather?

I bet it looks better with the flares covering the cut edge.

I'm with the others, more capable means lower lift and fender cutting. You certainly won't be gettin' around well with 3.73s and 35s though, you'll want 5.13s for those (also, I wouldn't spool the front if you want to maintain your turning radius, get a locker of some sort for it).

ehh i dont know about the flairs, my personal opion it kinda looked like a down syndrom tonka truck...they were huge, about 6inches wide.guess it wasnt so bad looking when It had the groud hawgs on it...14inches wide on some waaaaayyyy off set rims....15x10 wiht 3inches of back space....

but I prefer my white trash look over that.:D

Ill also agree with junkie, if you keep the v-6 2.9 I assume, 35;s and 5.13's will be the only way to get the truck to move decent.....hell even withthe 4.0l.

with my 33's and 4.56's 4.0l and 5spd I have the power of a stock truck...
the 35's I had at one time were kinda lazy....and the ground hawgs 36's were just lame.Felt like iwas driving a 4cyl.

spooling a d35 with 35 in tires is a bad idea. if you do that make sure you phase the joints.

a suspension lift definatly creates ground clearance. in the case of ifs type rigs it can allow more front axle clearance as well, but soild axles obviously need more tire. an earlier post semed to indicate otherwise.

in my experience, the b2 with stretched wheel base and soild axles netting @ 3-5 in lift with soft springs and 35-38 in tires is an awesome combination. especially with a 4.0 or larger powerplant.

the lowest you can go with 35's will net the most all around usable rig in my experience. thats street/trail use

i run an ext cab so i really need to run a 40 in tire and 6 in plus lift to match that capacity and will still need to winch in many boa areas comparativly.

if you dont want hack job fenders, then do a nice job on them.

if you wheelin with no need to spool or lock the rear, modding the fenders and running a base homebrew lift is probably all you need.

Yeah I guess those would look a bit dumb without the tire to fill them :icon_twisted:

I missed the 302 part, with no overdrive, 4.10 or 4.56 would be fine with 35s (4.56 or 4.88 if you do use an OD trans)

what did you get? bushwacked cutouts?yeah i took mine out of the box, laughed at it,held it up to the body and laughed again.then promptly sent them back:buttkick::icon_rofl:

i like the look of the flexy flares on squatch'es and junkies trucks, but i'm probably not going to spend the money on them until the fix it ticket:haha:

I guess they were bushwacker cutouts, they came on the truck when I bought it.And I thought they were ugly as hell.Along with the lepoard skin head liner and seat covers. The seat covers and head liner only made it to the first gas station I hit on the way home.I was embarssed throwing them away in the trash can!

The price of the truck, and the base of the truck, was about the only thing I really liked about it. For what I wanted out of the truck from how it was setup.

But it looks like I'll be changing the look of my truck alittle.Got alittle something today...

Cant say as I blame you for sending your;s back.Myself I think they would make your truck look a little boy geaorgeish lol...I like how your truck sits now, but Im kinda bias towards the hacked fnder look. But when the time comes the flexi flares like junkie and squatch'es truck would not look bad ethier.....keep the function over 80's era look lol...

now that we have hijacked this guys thread
