It appears that it is your steering box in the pic. If it is leaking from up top, which I think is where the lines connect at, I would see if it is leaking at your fittings. Otherwise it could be your box leaking. But first i would clean it off with gum cutter/brake cleaner and have someone go lock to lock with your steering while you watch to see where the fluid is coming from.

not the lines, and i cant fine were its coming from.
should i just order a new one?

Are you sure the pump hasn't puked fluid out onto it?

ya, the pumps fine. the box has been alittle lossy goosy for awhile now,but now its bleeding and i cant think of what it would be.
ill take it off tomorrow and take a closer look

If the box is getting loose and there's fluid on it that isn't from anywhere else then i would say yes it's time for a new box.

Is that bolt on the top tight?

Not sure if its different than one from a 90, but mine had a bolt on top of it with a O ring and one day it just started losing fluid fast.
Replaced the O ring and the leak went away.

Hmmm...I was unaware of said bolt with o-ring seal on top of the box. Good catch guys!

thats what it was, the top bolt was leaking, so i got a new one and that also fixed the loose steering. all good now
thanks

I had 185,000 miles, mine was leaking at the bottom, so I went to Merles Auto here in Tucson and bought a rebuilt steering gear box, solved wear and leaks for another 150,000 miles.
