I know its becoming a sad sad world, I don't make a lot and work hard for what i do have. its never crossed my mind will hes got money i am just going to take something i can use.

I feel lucky i pulled the radio and to put it in my moms car a few days earlier.
I have always wondered about a alarm system do thy really deter anyone?

I agree, I don't make very much a year either, I scrape by on about $700 a month usually, and it don't go very far. However I've never stooped so low as to take from others because they have more money than I do. I scrape by month to month on absolutely nothing. God forbid some idiot try taking anything from me, I ain't got anything to lose, take shit from me and you'll lose. I've been screwed over and walked over for many years by so many people, I had enough, I don't put up with the BS anymore, I tell people what I think, and if they don't like it tough shit, grow up and learn to deal with the truth.

Where I live theft isn't much of an issue, it is a bit in town, but I live outside of town in a farming and ranching community, people just don't screw around out in these parts, they know better. They know that they screw around on someone's property they're most likely going to get shot.

However, given the economy currently, the amount of theft is on the rise people stealing stuff and trying to sell it to make a buck. However, many of those that are stealing are doing so to get money for drugs, another illegal activities besides the theft.

I get a break on rent because i work for the Co that manages the place and that is 460 a month, add all the other expenses money just grows wings.
With the current economy is see it all over town lots more graffiti areas of town looking really sad. To top it all off I don't think people care about what is not theirs anymore.
What happened to having some pride were you live, work, etc. Maybe that is the reason recreation areas are being closed.

i had a tire knifed christmas eve 2 years ago, alot of people in the trailer park did, the neighbor across from me has 2 cut on one of their vehicles, 1 on another, i thought about filling my tires with propane....so that if it ever got done again, and the one doing it was a smoker.....BOOM!.....it would almost be worth it!, and i doubt it could be proven afterwards what really happend. ive thought about changing out the radio with a old 8-track from a fairmont i used to have....that should be a anti-theft radio! i do have the latch to my shed hooked up to electric, try to get in it when its wet out, it will bite!, heck ive forgotton it a time or two and surprized myself! i remember growing up, the only time the house was locked was if we were away on vacation, and then we only locked the front door, back door was unlocked in case some one needed to use the phone....not these days though....

Years ago somebody was trying to slash school bus tires with a screwdriver (why a screwdriver?) when the tire blew it blew the screwdriver into the lady's leg.

My current CD player has a detachable face. I have thought about ripping the face off of a period correct radio and gluing the buttons on it and figuring out a way to get it to stay on the front of my HU. It would double as both detourant for theft and it would look "correct" for car shows.

But it's going to get a whole lot worse I am afraid. Not talking about vandals and michief from kids being stupid.
I hate to post stuff like this ... but maybe some of you don't know whats going on.

The Fed is dumping 85 Billion...Yes Billion..with a B...a month into the stockmarket
to keep it from tanking. Bailout, stimulus..what ever! That is money printed from thin air
that we have to pay as tax payers.....Theft is what it is!
Plus it delflates the purchasing power of the dollar...causes inflation..soon hyper inflation. look up Hyperinflation in the weimar republic...or hyperinflation in zimbabwe to see what happens when you start printing money like mad.
Our dollar becomes worth less (worthless) more everyday.
Currently it has started in greece with austerity measures ( see the riots on the news?)...and now their starting it here. They passed this thing now allowing "Bail-ins"... allows the banks (that got bailed out) to now LEGALLY take money from the peoples checking and savings accounts, 401K etc... to cover their losses for making bad decisions! LEGAL THEFT of your money.

The true unemployment rate is close to 23% not 7% or 8% they claim. See the thing is,if a person is unemployed and collecting unemployment benifits,their counted. But as soon as they run out of time and not drawing unemployment benifits anymore, even tho they have no job and are still unemployed, their not counted anymore.
You got to love this new fuzzy math system they use.

Another crash is coming soon to the markets, Soon the .gov will be broke and start cutting back on the handout programs (austerity measures). Thats when people go from stealing radios and materal things...to stealing food, gas,clothes..etc..to survive.

Holy sh** someone else that finally see's things the way I've been seeing and researching our current country status. None of it is good and the government and media keeps everything swept under the rug. I guess they figure if they don't tell the truth nobody will notice?

Well those of us with shit for jobs notice. And many of us can't do anything else due to our location, the state we live in, etc. Everyone keeps telling me I should be a school teacher, well that's nice but where am I supposed to get the 20k+ to pay for the schooling, then not even be guaranteed a job in this kiss ass country we live in where unless you kiss someone's ass, know someone who knows someone, your likely hood of being very prosperous isn't very good. Those who don't believe this reality are the ones who have never been in this position before. You can't just pull money out of thin air. And contrary to popular belief you can't just pick up and move whenever and wherever you feel like. Unless there's a 100% guarantee on the other side that you have a great paying job waiting for you to start working.

I've got $40 in my account to last me till the 15th. That don't get you very far these days. Only reason I'm able to somewhat survive as it is now, is I live rent free in the sense that my rent payment is home, yard, building, and property maintenance throughout the year. That's only due to being lucky enough to live under the roof with family. If it wasn't for that, I'd be living in my B2, which trust me sometimes might become a reality here pretty damn soon the way things are going with the economy.

I don't make it but I do a damn good job of pretending. There's not much you can do. I try and do side jobs when I can, try to boost up the pen sales that I'm making on the side. But there's only so much I can do there as I don't have the income to be able to go out and buy accessories and parts in bulk so prices are higher on my end that way. I sell a few here and there, but bring in enough to at least break even so I'm not out the cost of materials.

Only reason I am able to do what little I can is I live with my grandfather, and my rent payment is taking care of the house, buildings, property, yard, etc.

I am not sure were we are heading or i am afraid to say were will we be in a the next 5 years.
Thy play with numbers to make it sound good to the masses, i am sure if people know the real numbers there would be a outrage or are people are so out of touch thy don't care anymore if thy know the truth.

They just don't want to hear the truth, so they hide behind all the curtains instead of actually doing a bit of looking around online to find the reality that the media and government keeps hiding.

These next few years I fear are going to be worse, and at the moment I'm stuck where I am with very little income so unless things start miraculously getting better here pretty quick I'm in for an even worse year this year and next.

Not to threadjack, but...

You left out a few details on the unemployment numbers. IIRC the number they are spouting now is that it's down to around 6%. Of course, they just kicked a ton of people off unemployment (who don't get counted), they don't count the "underemployed" (where you're working but not making enough to survive), they don't count those who have given up looking for work, and then to make sure that the numbers get low enough, they add in a little gimmick they call "seasonally adjusted" where they arbitrarily decide that some random number of people are collecting unemployment simply because they are "seasonal" workers - like construction workers (who typically are laid off in the winter), holiday help (those who mostly only work during the holiday rush and are homebodies in the summer or retired), etc.

The sad fact of the matter is that the current REAL unemployment number is well over that of ANY year of the Great Depression. BTW, FDR's "New Deal" did not save us from the Depression. In fact, over the last 5 years, our real unemployment numbers have been higher than those of the Great Depression.

Of course, nobody wants to talk about that. If more people knew about it, people would be marching on Washington with torches and pitchforks.
