The wire is broken off. It is mounted on the coil. What is it so I know what to order?

25uF/25v electrolytic capacitor. It is a local hash filter to keep your radio from detecting the nastiness of the coil primary when the coil field is collapsing and to stiffen the power supply to the coil. You will likely not note any changes in “anything” if removed or kept. The EDIS4 coils seem to be very quiet relative to canister coils. The automotive versions from OEM Ford are very robust. If it failed, it would likely short your coil primary to ground and you would lose the coil operation. Or if it leaks current, then robbing some juice from the coil primary.

The wire being disconnected means it is ornamental now. Does nothing. Won’t fix a broken car if reconnected, maybe just make AM radio quieter- if even that.

Yeah, that, I don't think I have any on my '90 anymore but I don't run AM/FM on that, don't even have an aerial antenna... it's been MP3 pretty much exclusively for many years now...
