What is the absolute QUIETEST tire money can buy?

Goodyear Wrangler RT/S. They're the original tires on my truck, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but they seem to be really quiet.

I'd recommend something with either solid ribs or siped ribs...

Like a GoodYear Wrangler HT which is DESIGNED to be a quiet tire.

Why such a priority on stealth?

said previously because of medical reasons, but that's why i think sound deadener is a better bet - you block everything then, not just tire noise

just wondering but whats up with everybody getting banned. I just looked through the whole thread to see boggin got banned and Koda got banned. was there something I missed this weekend? Or should I be looking for a banned banner under my name for my awesome advice.

The youngin's are on time out. They made some not so nice comments toward the OP.

I cleaned this thread and moved it back to the correct forum

I don't want to see any more smartass replies here

FWIW i think the dynamat is probably the best suggestion - more benefit vs. tires

im going to have to assume the post that they (koda and boggin) were banned for were removed during the "cleaning"
im surprised i wasn't banned for some of the stuff i said a while back... cleaned up since. just curious how long is the ban in effect? and also,
most of my tires have been quiet i think, except the highway wind noise would mask any noise they do make so ill have to agree the dynomat... why one would want to silentize a ranger on a seemingly unlimited budget, baffles me too. also, the coment made about no activity meaning he hasn't read the replys, not necessarily true, he may have not logged on...

Some people get on here with nothing to do, know very little about anything anyway, and clutter up every damn thread with bullshit. Eventually that type of person will go too far and their presence won't be required for a few days. It's nothing sinister or complicated. If you don't know anything about quiet tires, butt out. It's okay to not know about quiet tires. I don't know about quiet tires, except that places like tirerack.com often have customer ratings and that's a much better source of info than we are.

Geez, I go away for one weekend and don't watch this forum....
Dude had a legit question. So newbies maybe don't "get" the forum yet. No need to be a smartass.

Regardless, the Yokohama Avid TRZ's that I have on my wife's car are by far the quietest tire that I have personally owned.

I have heard alot of quiet tires over the years, but my all time favorite are the BFG KO's. Those are a really quiet tire.

If you heard them, they are disqualified! :D

Im embarassed that anyone got banned for smartass replies to "that" question....anyone who has half a brain can see that it was not a legit question. And any mods that cant figure out a troll for what it is and bans the ones who can figure it out should be banned too.

On to my next opinion, we all know that certain dumb questions will always gety a dumb response from a select few and usually the same individuals. So in that light it is my opinion that someone wanted those select few gone for a bit and setup this particular scenario as a legit excuse to get them banned. Again just my opinion. Dont argue it, you wont change it.

I still, even after the "cleaning", see a few smartass answers that would run off potential newbs. That fact that only a specific few were banned prior warnings or not says something. Banning one to make a statement is one thing but banning multiple people and not everyone who did the same thing is unfair and starting to look alot like biased judgements.

Nothing, the guy was just a douchebag.
By the way cleanup missed a spot.

Oh and why is it when people inquire about the absence of their friends and want to openly contest a decision that obviously so many people disagree with(known as sticking up for their friends) that thread gets locked? Twice?

So going on six days now and still no sign of the OP? Sounds more like BS.

Who are you to say if it was legit or not?!

Really... we have a life... we don't have time to setup posts just so we can ban people, when in reality, all we have to do is ban them.

Most of the people banned have been in trouble before. They know the rules and choose to push the boundaries. The others, I am sure, got a warning.

There is no use of sticking up for 'friends' on the internet. All you do is make yourself look like a fool, because, after all, you don't know the history they may already have. Starting a thread...twice... does nothing but make you look worse.

Opinions on this?!?

My opinion is that I disagree with you 100%. Sorry but those two just contributed too much to be banned for attacking a one post troll in my opinion! :dunno:

to me, this is a tricky one.

on one hand, it could be a troll. it has the aftertaste of spam

on the other, it could be just someone not familiar with the internet. people that are "used to" the internet forget that others are experiencing it for the first time, every day. i guess i'm just old, since I didn't move from my momma's teat, straight to a keyboard and mouse.

for example, on "another forum", there is a member that has a clean, low mile, all original b2. guess what, he's in his 60's and the internet (especially forums) is all new stuff.

there's a good chance the OP may not know how to get back to this thread, or even this site. if he does, he'll probably leave for good, and that's unfortunate.
