What is it?

Does anyone know what the module is for that is mounted under the left seat in my 2000 Ranger XLT? Putting Dynamat down and I don’t know if I can remount it on top of the mat or not. It has a gooey substance around it. Thanks for the help.

Look underneath the truck and see if theres a big wad of wires like that coming out. Looks like a pass-thru point or plug for the harness. I cant imagine all those wires terminating in a device that small and still have room for some kind of circuit board in there, even for a shock sensor for air bags or seat belts.

But why does it say "front" seems the orientation of a simple pass through device wouldn't be directional. I think theres more to the story.... also that thing doesn't seem to exist on my 09. No wires pass through the floorboard under the seat, the wires in that area are for the seat belt explosion stuff. Not stuff to mess with.

That’s so the guy on the assembly line doesn’t have to attempt to think.
