Well since you can't search a 3 letter word (GAY).

What the hell is an STX? I've looked my '92 over pretty well and all I can see is a 2" factory lift?

Why does the door tag say the truck needs 215/75/R15's? With a 2" lift?

What's the biggest tire I can run on this bad boy? It had some junk 235's on it when I got it (shitty wheels too).

How is it differen't from a normal cab Ranger 4x4 2.9L?

I am very sure the 92 STX did not have the factory lift. Ford dropped the factory lift around 90. That is when the STX pretty much became a trim package. I ran 31" tires on my 89 Supercab STX 4WD with the factory lift.
 
The STX is a "sport offroad" package that was offered from 1987 through 94-ish.

the "Factory lift" that you refer to is known as the "high rider" kit
and was a no cost option offered from 1987 through 1989.

It isn't a lift as much as it is a factory leveling kit and isn't 2",
it's actually more like 1.5-1.75" (not allowing for normal spring sag)

The STX included High-pressure gas shocks sway bars, from '88-up
that stripe decal that makes the Gen1 & Gen2 STX's distinctive.

STX's also offered unique seats similar to those used in the
Thunderbird turbocoupe, Mustang GT and some Explorer sports
(adjustable side bolsters and thigh support)

STX's also came equipped with the grabbiest axle ratio.
which basically boils down to manual trans trucks came
with 3.73's and auto trans trucks with 4.10's, atleast for the 87-89's

STX's were also only offered with 2.9 or 4.0 engines.

My truck is a 97 and it is an STX. Does that just mean a trim package or are there driveline upgrades also?

If it makes you feel any better my "Custom" came with 205/75-15's. I have 235's on it and it looks about like yours... but mine has a 3" bodylift. I am guessing mine has more spring sag than yours does.

Pretty much a trim package, the newer ones have a Mazda bed and some more appearance things, but the older ones are kind of a stripped down but sporty truck.

On the older ones once in awhile you see tube bumpers and rollbars from the factory too.
 
My STX had a rear sway bar, 60/40 cloth bench seat and 4.10L gearing. I believe it had better shocks and tires from the factory, but of course that was LONG gone before I got it.
 
Ok, so my STX has 2" rear lift blocks. What about up front?

It also had factory Marchal foglights which were gone when I got it.....
 
2" blocks are stock on all 4x4 Rangers (they have the bumpstop protrusion on them). I can see just by your pics your truck has the standard suspension on it (Highrider trucks have drop spacers riveted in between the frame and the factory radius arm crossmember).
 
yeah, you have no lift, and the door sticker would have 235 tires as max if you did.

though some stickers say 225 as well.
 
Weird. When i park next to other 2nd Rangers mines taller. :P

I looked and did not see the highrider brackets...
