What in the world...

I heard a quote once that I’ll paraphrase…

Never be afraid to raise dragon slayers in a time that dragons exist.

In other words, don’t be afraid to raise children, there will always be troubles until the Lord returns (for those of us who believe). Raise your children according to the times though, you can see what the world is doing, teach them appropriately so they can navigate it.

I'm at the other end of the spectrum, my boy is 6 and my little girl turns one at the end of next month lol.
you have many many good days ahead with them.

that dragon slayer saying is very good. i taught both of my kids to defend themselves and to protect women and people who are unable to defend themselves when the boys were young and they have helped a number of people over the years who may have gotten hurt from others.

we always need warriors to protect others. they just have to be smart warriors.

Very true. Society does not like warriors, especially young ones. They call them bullies when they stand up for themselves or others. When they're following a creedo other than what society's being fed, they're dangerous criminals. That's why they need to be smart, so that people don't know that secretly, they're the ones who can save us all.

so true /\

especially schools. they hate people who are willing to stand up to bullies. they will try to suspend the kid who tries to protect themselves and others. we almost had to go to court when my oldest son was in kindergarten and someone was bullying him on the bus. we complained nonstop to the school, talked to the bus driver, everything, and they did nothing. my son kept having trouble so i told him to give the kid 3 warnings and alert the bus driver each time and if nothing got done, punch the kid dead in the nose. i told him that will end the problem and he will get called to the office but to not worry because we will be there.

sure enough, we got called and they were tryign to suspend our son for fighting. we showed up and i said bullshit, we have logs of each person we talked to and each time we complained and can show you did nothing to stop my son from being bullied so you suspend him and we will see you in court.

he didn't suspended, though neither did the problem kid, and the other kid turned out to be a 6th grade kid. the other kid ended up with twin black eyes and my son never had an issue in school again.

my youngest son said being taught to fight and also taking jujitsu saved him in basic training and advanced training in the army. he said they still do the going behind the barracks to deal with things when people have trouble with someone. since my youngest son is a red head and went in the army at 17, he got picked on alot, he said. the drill sargeant would take the platoon behind the barracks and make a circle and put people in who had issues. (my son was a cavalry scout) my son said after he broke three people's wrists/ankles they stopped letting people go fight him. he said when he got to permanent party, he had the same issues and after a few people got injured, the commander stopped people form fighting that way.

teach your kids to defend themselves and they will be protectors. they will do something great when others are afraid to stand up.
