Well if you guys can't tell by my forum name I am eat up with drag racing. I just go to turn on the Mopar Mile High Nationals on ESPN2 and what do I find? Women's softball. I emailed ESPN but I doubt they care.

They used to have those drag boat races in Austin, where I grew up. They are pretty awesome. My father-in-law set a world speed record in a hydroplane boat with an outboard. The only thing they wanted in the water was one blade of the prop.

I spent lots of time on the shores of Town Lake. I grew up in Austin. It was the fastest fresh water course in the world at the time. Mexicans that lived in the area decided to flex their political muscles. "It's too loud!" "The crowds are too big!" Even though it was only three weekends out of the year... Took the "Aqua" out of the Aquafestival and the whole thing died. Still have races in Marble Falls though!
