What does this vacuum mean?

I finally got the old inductive timing gun out and sure enough all my cylinders have a random cutout.. Like there'll be no light for half a second or whatever the time is.. Some do it more than others. I checked another vehicles wires just to be sure it wasn't the timing gun and the whole cutout thing wasn't happening on there car.

I'll be ordering a new coil pack, a motorcraft one from ford.

Sounds like the issue right? Don't see how all 6 wires could be bad after 10k

Does anyone know if there's a difference between the horizantal and vertical connectors other than connection location? I have the vertical, but rockauto has a close out sale on the horizantal connector from airtex/wells which is usually $60, but right now it's $10 and I'm liking that price , although if it's going to damage my computer I'll go with the $76 motorcraft coil pack..

There is a difference between the vertical & Horizontal plug coils, they will not interchange. It will not start if you switch the connector style coil.

I had a weak coil on mine, did not have a miss at idle, I had spark knock under load that I could not get rid of. If you have a Digital volt meter you can check the primary & secondary side of the coil, the values you should see during testing are on here & internet, search for coil testing.

I changed the coil for a bwd tonight and I could still see the missing in the timing gun. So I guess what it boils down to are either the wires are bad or the computer needs reflashing. I'm gonna try wires first.
