I run the parts counter at a small independant farm repair shop. We work on just about anything found on a farm... keeps it interesting.

I have a manufacturing engineering degree, but got tired of moving all the time. My first comany I started at fresh out of college still going as far as I know but just didn't work out, second one is dead and gone, third is going thru chapter 11 and the fourth has been bought out by a global company and no longer has a R&D department... so I went back to where I grew up and decided to help out dad at his shop. I like it better than anywhere I have been at before and engineering is still required (to a much smaller degree obviously)

Update: I Can finally repost I lost my job last month and finally started thursday at AGC Automotive America. makin everthing glass for Honda, Toyota, Ford so far thats what I've seen. There are four lines in the part of ther building I work in, the line that I work on makes the corner "sail" window for the Toyota Sienna, the line next to me does the rear glass for the Tundra, next line is new model for ford some side window something that is still in developing faze. and the fourth is the rear side for the Ford Edge.

Heres what I do at work in my department:

We make the whole rear sliding window from raw glass to a complete ready to install part.

We also do this window but the glass comes from kentucky tempered and printed. we prime the glass and cook it put it in a press install the black rubber and clips then it's ready to be installed.

Heres one of the many new racks we are getting in from Ford we just picked up all the windows for the 2011-2012 Focus. (notice prototype on the side of the rack)

I'm a stresser/fabricator for Superior Post Tension Supplies.I'm with the cable from the time its coated all the way till I pull the cables and finish the house except for when the cable is installed in the foundation. With 17 tons of pressure on each cable (most regular houses usually have somewhere between 60 to 100 cables depending on the engineer), and idiots installing the cables. Things either go right, or they go boom and send concrete flying in all directions. Pretty fun, painfull, and no day is ever the same.

Automotive drainer for Picknpull in calgary alberta. basically i drain the bottom end fluids (motor,transmission,rear diff) and pull out the oil filters and catalytic converters before the car is put out on the yard to be picked.

I work for a company that makes circuit boards, switches and a ton of other parts for pipe organs. I spend a lot of time testing boards and diagnosing/repairing them as well as stuffing and soldering new boards. I work back in the machine shop sometimes on special projects as well. Also tedious assembly things too.

Still at the same place, it'll be 3 years in November. Overall I'm pretty happy with my job. Full benefits and plenty of vacation time.

Can't remember if I replied to this or not, but I'm not about to wade through it this morning, I got things to do, lol. At any rate....

I'm a licensed general contractor and handyman - I do just about anything except plumbing and painting (but usually sub that sort of stuff out because I can, lol). Carry a whole list of certifications too (retaining walls, decorative concrete, ICF block construction, etc). I also build custom sheds and dabble in a lil landscaping stuff. Do a lot of stuff myself and have a bunch of people I can call to give me an extra few hands on a project, or I can sub stuff out to a bunch of subcontractors.

Too bad the economy is in the tank, I've had to fight for work all year though. Anyone on here need my services and anywhere near me? lol

I also took on a job as a sales manager for a small company around here that sells concrete sealers and such. They downsized a couple years ago due to the owner's health problems and problems with being able to maintain a storefront (a lot of local places that had a storefront you could rent and sell that sort of thing wanted to tear 'em down an build big office buildings). But they survived, they got a warehouse kinda off the beaten track (but still good road access) and just do deliveries of material. Plus I get a discount on what I need, lol.


When I'm not too busy with that stuff, I'm busy with my own projects, lol.
