what do you do?

Physical Plant Director. I maintain 58 commercial buildings and we are adding 21 more as we speak. I worked into it from the ground up. Not much pay but the bennies are great and Im on a 20 yr retirement. 6yrs left them im gunna have to figure out what I wanna do when I grow up.

I am a certified welder (icar), diesel mechanic by day and automotive mechanic by night. mainly just doing automotive on other peoples cars trying to pay off some plastic.

My "official" title is something along the lines of "Tire and Lub Technician" or some such.

Really all that means is that I do alot of work with tires and get doused in oil regularly.

Every once in a blue moon I get to do something more entertaining.

My work is 50% assistive technology for disabled people and the rest is a mix of everything from construction to welding to computer repair. Just a little of everything.

As a side job, I fix up old computers and sell them.

Skills? I went to a tech school and have an associate's degree in computer networking. Everything I know about automotive stuff came from either first hand experimentation or various people I know.

Student... Studying Geology/Biology in my 2nd year of undergrad... Planning to graduate in 4 years, move out west and get my PhD. in Vertebrate Paleontology from UC Berkley maybe... Then I might move to Australia where I can be a Mineral Exploration Manager and start around $110K a year, teach at a local university, and finally buy me a new LandCruiser 78 with the TDV8 :D

Oh, I also work at a local Sir Pizza for summer cash... Might work with my cousin's b/f who is an electrician this summer...

I'm still in high school but on nights and weekends I peddle pizza's. In whatever time that is left all I wanna do is hang with friends but im usually experimenting with my truck. Occasionally I haul some scrap for extra money and I buy, sell, trade parts for my truck.

My dad and all his 'Nam buddies make fun of each others medical problems and ride motorcycles all over the country. Last year they did the AlCan for the second time. This year they are coming though here and camping up in my woods for a night at least.

Electrical Engineering/Mathematics/Physics Student

For work I, work at a semiconductor manufacturing plant, work for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the summer, counselor at a summer camp, work in the Career Services office at school, tutor in math and physics, and grade quizzes for the math teachers. I will pretty much do anything to support myself and never do just one job at once.

CNC machinist. Program all my parts. Some 3d milling. The company I work for make screw driving systems for assmble work. Ford, Honda,Toyota, Harley, Skil and buch others. We did about 10 or so machines for Stanly Electric. They make the headlight and tail lights on Honda 2009 Accord. I built fixtures for the head and tail lights. On the accord we did the sterring wheel, airbag, side mirror and glove box.

Sometimes on weekends I go in and make high steer arms, battery trays, grader balls pivots or what else somebody wants. As long as I buy my own material and tooling they dont mind.

What programming software do you use? What kind of machines you run?

I run two Roeders CNC's (actually doesn't take much to run them, as long as they don't error out they can run all weekend), and have a few months experience with our two HAAS VMC's so I can fill in if somebody is gone and we have a hot job. We also have a HAAS HMC and a Makino but I have no experience with either of those. Programming I use Pro/E for carbons, and Mastercam X3 for steel.
