What do I have...? ?

You do have a rather rare truck though.

Kinda curious if you have the single piston or dual piston front calipers though.

Actually just had all that off doing brakes and a level kit for the front end. They are single piston calipers. Rear abs only also. (Had to replace the sensor in the rear end housing to.

To add to the ongoing confusion, I was looking today and found out it’s got a 7.5 rear end, and a Dana 35 front...

I was convinced the trucks with a 7.5 rear had a Dana 28 front..? Or where there variations throughout all years..?

I’m now convinced that I have a hodgepodge of a truck... but seeing as it now has a new trans, new clutch and slave cylinder, new brakes, lines and everything else, new tires and shocks and still has a decent body on it that I may as well rebuild the way wore out 3.slow that barely moves the thing around at speed limit... I’ve got way more in it than it’s worth, but everything works (except the blend door for heat and air and the ABS is faulty) so I can justify rebuilding the engine and maybe doing axle swaps in the future...

Everything after 91ish had a D35 IIRC.

Order a marti report on it..might tell ya somethin...

My '93 Splash had 7.5" rear and Dana 35 front originally.

Ok, that makes sense now. I was reading another post and was confused on the listings of configurations. Maybe I just read it wrong. Either way I believe I have the Johnny Cash of Splash’s...haha “It’s 93 94 95 96...and so on..” lmao.

Call it the Jonny Splash.lol

We sold a new 93 Splash 4x4 to a woman who still owns it,she traded in the first Escort we ever sold to get the truck.I didn't realize you could get a Splash 2wd until I read this post, the only 2wd trucks we stocked were strippies that companies bought for delivery, etc.
At the end of model runs they sometimes build some odd combinations,I bought one of the last 2011's we got,a 4x4,supercab,XLT that came with Rancho shocks that belonged on an FX4.It was missing the transfercase vibration damper-which I added-apparently they ran out of those, that might explain why your truck seems to be a mixed year unit.

Wow, good info..! Around here you don’t see anything but 2wd splashes... and they are all lowered or bagged.. I believe mine is the 3rd or 4th 4x4 regular cab splash ive seen...
I was just confused on all the mismatch stuff, factory core support says 93, it’s got 94 back interior but it’s a 95 per VIN and when you decode the vin it’s a 4x2... lmao... only thing I don’t like about it is the older interior. But it does it’s job so I’m not complaining, I was more stumped than anything...

I have seen both 2wd and 4wd Splash's ever since they started selling them. The first year they were out, a kid in high school got a RED 4x4 extra cab, lifted it and put nice centerline wheels and off road tires. Almost the same week, another kid got a RED 2wd Extra cab and put 3 RF Punch 15"s behind the front seats. I wanted a yellow one sooo bad. Never did get one tho:bawling:

The yellow ones were pretty sweet but I never could find one, so obviously red was the next choice as I hate black... I did kinda make my own white one with a 97 work truck I bought several years ago. I found a mint red bed at a scrap yard and slapped it on there.. lol it was red and white the whole time I owned it. Traded it for a 69 bug that was slammed and the guy who got it finally painted it. It’s still roaming the streets to this day and kept very clean..! I called it a Spurt instead of Splash...LMAO.!

And then the purple one. I thaught they were cool at first, but then the thought of driving a purple people eater was just to much:icon_twisted:

My boss has a 96(?) 4x4 purple Splash for sale, less then 90k 4.0L/auto std cab stepside, runs great but the DS frame's rusted in two over the rear axle. $500, I was thinking abt buying it and mixing/matching parts with my now parked '02 xlt...
I feel that you can't have too many Rangers/Explorers, but my wife strongly disagrees.

For a while I thought they ALL had 4.0's because the first ones I ever saw had them. It wasn't until later that I saw one with a 4banger. 2wd single cab, fiberglass bed, and a 4.0 was basically a factory street racer in my town. We raced ford 4.0's ( Rangers ) against Chevy 4.3 ( S-10/S-15 ) almost every weekend, always with different results.
