What did YOU do today?

This is a few days, but I cut some trees down, installed a new water heater, checked out spark plugs on the truck and washed it.

So I’m guessing the trees were in the bed? Do you have a picture before you cut them down? And where is the water heater?

There's the water heater:

Got a new sink and cabinet for the bathroom too. I still gotta put it in and the expansion tank to go with the new water heater.

No pictures of the trees. Just some stuff that's been allowed to grow far too long (15-20 years) and was caught up in other trees...

Replaced the 4' flourescent shop light above my cabinets in the garage. last Christmas it let the smoke out and no longer worked. bought a new LED fixture from Menards today and found out a few things... first, the old fixture which I figured was at least circa 1990 or older, looks like it is only a few years old. ballast must have shorted internally but otherwise it looks brand new. not worth fixing, it is going on the scrap steel heap. second, the old one has a two wire power cord that was plugged into a cheap two wire extension cord that was plugged into this weird and nifty plug in switch that plugged into the outlet. the cord was routed around the upper cabinetto the outlet below to this switch plug. the switch plug is made of bakelite, whic was why I was thinking hte fixture was older than what it really was, and the extension cord defintely looked old. New fixture is a three wire power cord and it has just enough cord to plug in if i drape it in front of the upper cabinets, or about 6 feet shy of the outlet if I route it similar to the old cord.. so off to find or make a 6' grounded extension cord...

6' is probably cheaper to buy than make.

that is kind of what I am thinking as well since I don't have the ends or wire hanging around.

Also changed out the cabin filter on the Edge... dunno when the last owner changed it but it could possibly have been original to the car...

I was poking fun. If you were a wise ass like me, the way you wrote your post, it sounded like you cut the trees out of your Ranger and you installed the water heater in your Ranger.

I'm not an English major. That's my wife. LOL

I actually don't have any college. Just a couple years in training for IT. (A+, Network+, Security+, and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) All on XP/ Server 03. I haven't kept up with it since. Decided industrial maintenance was more my style.

After working on the Ranger, I fixed the valve cover gasket on my daughter's Focus. No major hangups.

Then beer.
