What did YOU do today?

I swapped out the trans fluid in my Ranger, hoping for some improvement. Nope. Still makes noise in 1st, 2nd, and 5th. This is a recent occurrence. Plus, the rear main seal leaks. It's amazing what issues you can hide from buyers just to make an extra buck... I got ripped off. Now it's off to the transmission shop to spend God knows how much... At least I'm fixing something that'll make the truck more reliable in the future. I don't have the place, means, or time to fix it myself.

The longest extension ladder I own is a light duty 24’. Dad has a medium duty 28’. I also own a pair of 16’ and a pair of 20’ heavy duty plus a medium duty 20’. All aluminum.

One buddy has a pair of fiberglass 40’ ladders that have a work top like a folding ladder on the very top. Those things are stupid heavy.

I also have a harness and climbing gear and have been about 75-80’ up in trees around here with it. That’s way better than a ladder. A bucket truck or man lift is even better.

yesterday i changed the steps on my 24 ranger from the tyger steps to some ranger raptor steps a guy took off when he got hte truck home.

the ranger raptor steps are an inch wider and hang an inch lower than the ones i took off. i wanted wider steps and the wife likes them being lower so it works out well

I successfully drilled out an ignition lock cylinder for the first time. It won't win any beauty contests, but the car starts and when the replacement cylinder shows up, I'll be ready to rock and roll.

Nobody caught you? Kids in my old neighborhood used to do that all the time.

Yeah, the sum of my knowledge before doing it was cinema.

Funny how much one can learn when failure occurs.

$2.72 around snooty Dunwoody where I live. More than one benefit chasing the cute little brunette…

Traveled... a lot of it this week... Went to Union City TN which isn't very direct, flew into Memphis then drove the 110 miles north on Monday, on the way there the layover wasn't bad, Salt Lake City, on the way back it was in Atlanta for some dumb reason... over 5 hours back to Portland...

Don't know if it was just while I was there but is TN just crazy about traffic stops? There were people stopped everywhere, especially Monday night, not sure if it's just from being MLK day (not that I ever remember, haven't gotten it off for 20 years). I mean I behaved myself as much as I could and didn't have any issues.

Went for my tri-annual forklift recertification class yesterday. It is in the extreme opposite side of the plant. Took 25 minutes to walk there at a brisk pace. Instructor gave me a ride back in a yard car (BMW X5).

I'll be starting all kinds of new training next week. After orientation, I have to go through driver's training. I'm trying to be positive since USPS vehicles are right hand drive and we also have to drive a wrecker. So, I'm hoping that is the reason we need driver's training and not because people are that bad at driving in general.

I got the left trailer suspension arm installed last evening. I'll be starting on the right side next.

Today is a retirement party for some old guy. So, it probably won't get started today.

yesterday i put all the new trim pieces the wife ordered for her wrangler on. everything you can stick fake carbon fiber to is now covered on the outside of the jeep, ha ha ha.

Yesterday I picked up 80 more pavers for the shop project. Probably the only idiot buying pavers in the middle of winter. I’m fully expecting the 17-20” of snow they are calling for here Sunday/Monday. I tempted things buying something that requires no snow instead of preparing for snow. We got ice last night.
