What did YOU do today?

Today... Well yesterday was opening weekend of firearms season for deer in my state, so I went and wasted my time. Weather, moon, etc had them moving at the wrong times for hunting. Hooked up the generator and tested out the window unit in the hunting cabin, and stayed the night. Since deer are moving late right now, I slept in. Per usual when "camping" it started raining about 9 am so glad I didn't waste my time going into hunt. Everyone else was packed up and gone by the time I left, so guess they had the same idea.

Kind of need the weather to cool off a little more, it's about too warm to be sitting out there in the woods hunting right now. Mornings are good, but afternoon is sweating just sitting there.

Today was a rainy rest day

Wet & windy here. camped out with pets all day.

I attempted to find deer today, saw none... used 3/4 tank of gas in the explorer, was a nice day for a drive though :). I did find several pounds of Chanterelle mushrooms though so I didn't leave empty handed...

My new neighbor, not from around here, just planted pansies all around his front yard. Baited field!

Yet another reason I like some form of camper (even if it's a tent on wheels) over tent camping. More often than not, my camping trips have turned into that. It's going to rain, and there will be a puddle in the tent or right outside the door to track in. Doesn't seem matter if the forcast is calling for clear and sunny skies, if you find and pitch your tent on the high ground, or if you use the best ground tarp known to man, it's going to happen.

Honestly if it wasn't for trying to keep a baby warm we would have had our ground tent and we would have been just as dry, it never actually flooded where the camper actually was sitting, just in front of the door.

That's I nice little setup.
Mo' details!
