What did YOU do today?

I didn't get the rodent yesterday, judging by the new piles of gravel it's a gopher, tried to dig around and set a trap tonight but couldn't find the holes, this is war, annoyingly can't shoot toward the shop with a shotgun so I will have to be creative and persistent and annoyingly it's deer season but I'm not going far this weekend so I'll have to spend most of the middle of the days this weekend staring at the walls with a pellet gun or setting traps or poison or all of the above...

collect the hair from your comb or brush, once you have a handful put it in the hole. the rodent usually goes away after that. I know this works for ground hogs (y)

If the ladies in the house are anything like mine, finding hair to collect is not going to be an issue.

put wheels on the lathe to better enable it's trip down the basement stairs.

I dont know about small hard wheels on stairs, it could be quite the bumpy ride if it gets away...
I would be inclined to put plywood on the steps and lower it down with a rope or the winch in the truck.

I'll have 3/4 plywood/OSB from top to bottom. stairs are already reinforced. will winch it down.

last year I did have a 3.0 block on a small skid get a big assist from the lack of friction. in hindsight it was funny as hell.

got the overhangs covered. also have a full length 2x4s attached to each of the 3 step runners.
I'll add a couple verticals under the stairs.
us retired guys excell in designing ways to get hurt ,,I mean use creative ideas.

I've already used a mock-up to check the break-over angle/clearance at the top. should have 1/2 " at the center.

The 2011 got it's biannual oul change and inspection. It's good for another 6 months.

The rodent enemy is definitely a pocket gopher... the mess it made today made it obvious... also left holes less packed than yesterday and I put a trap in one of them... will see if it's successful tomorrow.

That mower looks built better than the one I use that has lots of drain holes in the top plate now... oh and no skids anymore...

Looked for deer at my brothers, saw a coyote walking away and about 10 squirrels but that was it this morning. Got home and waited for the gopher to do anything, gave up after about an hour while tinkering and sharpening the chainsaw... ended up mowing most of the back yard to hold it over for a bit. also cut up the stick I drug over with the tractor last weekend, was 2/3 of a wheelbarrow of wood lol. The gopher was active while I was mowing but plugged off it's hole, turns out I had the trap set wrong last night so I reset it in the new hole...

I cut up a bunch of downed trees into 6 foot lengths so that the sportsman club's Bobcat 4X4 can handle them with it's front end loader. I also cut the grass at home and removed all the remaining camping equipment on the 2019 except for the RTT. I need the carport put back up before I can remove that since I need a place to lift the bed cap off the rolling stand I built for it and the RTT, store it on saw horses, then left the RTT so it can be put on the cart. I really need to invest in another chain hoist so I can leave in installed in both places and not have to move it back and forth. Maybe after the government decides to pass some kind of budget and I can get paid....

New points, condenser & rotor installed, adjusted the tie rod ends as it was toed out some & you could see the scrub marks in the driveway. Not sure you can see it in the picture but sitting in the seat the right one was straight while the left one was turned out a little.
