What did YOU do today?

The two dogs next door haven't made yap one since the city's Noise & Nuisance Complaint letter likely arrived in their mailbox early this week. I'm not holding out that they'll not go back to their old habits, but in the meantime, sweet, quiet neighbourhood noises have returned for now. The neighbour has not attempted eye contact with us since last week. What a strange old experiment in living this suburban lifestyle is, where in the real olden days the people with an issue with one another might sit with a wise one and discuss, or alternatively, and less desirably, duke it out in a duel.

Speaking of cutting grass... did that for the first time this season yesterday.

I'm already on my fourth cut. It needs another but it's been raining pretty much nonstop the last couple days. People in the low areas are starting to get flooded.

The Illinois River is out of its banks here. Been raining for days. Today is a mixof rain and snow. This morning was close to a whiteout. I just had to chase down my trash cans from about four neighbors down the street.

I needed to cut grass for a couple weeks... just hasn't been dry enough.

Had a pipe fall and bounce on my finger while i was trying to line it up with another pipe. It was metal pipe.

2 hours later and it still sore. No as bad as when the sawzall got it because it still has feeling

Ouch!

They take time to get use to... but I almost always wear gloves these days when working.

One of my friends said the same thing

Yuck. That's gonna be sore for a while.

Rustoleum won’t help that

Went into the basement to start doing laundry and discovered that the water heater has sprung a small leak. I guess I know what I'm doing next pay since it isn't bad enough to be declared an emergency but can't let it go any longer than necessary either.

Yard needs mowed but way too wet, half of the front yard was flooded earlier in the week, several roads around here still have water over them. Had to detour twice on the way to town today, once for high water & then a stopped train. Been thinking about how the bronco sport resembles a gen 2 escape, hmmn. can’t afford that but I do have a gen 2 escape. Might “build” what I cant buy. A grill, some emblems, rear tire carrier - maybe. Still waiting on shocks so I can get my interior back together & make a plywood floor. fleabay shocks fell through so waiting on a crockauto order that was supposed to arrive today. Oh well, too chilly & windy to work outside anyway. Tomorrow is Bren’s birthday so it will all be about her tomorrow, have a show to go to in the evening so dont need to get into a project anyways. Guess tonight I just plan my possible “bronco” build & see what parts & ideas I can find.

drug some pallets home from work the last two nights for next weeks camping shenanigan's (they make a great "warming" fire, as long as you're 20' away...)

Yesterday I looked into the camper fridge that wasn't working on propane a couple weeks ago, got the volt meter out and it had 12V, took the flame cover off and it was fairly clean, tried to take the trim piece off inside so I could see the switch cam thing but it didn't wanna. Then I watched some videos and looked on the googles, no real solutions so I looked harder at it then just decided to turn the switch some more and sure enough the ignitor started clicking and the stupid thing works...

Tonight so far I took some unnecessary things out of the camper then changed the rear axles on my Traxxas rustler to the steel ones I just got, if I'm going to run paddles the mid '90's axles aren't likely to hold up to my brushless and LiPo setup...

Finger is still oozing but we put half a cage on the wrangler snd may finish the rest latrr. The t40 bit snapped and thats what really put the brakes on the work finishing
