What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I gotta say, that tire changer isn't too bad

But, šŸ¤”, Hmmm, I don’t have too many knuckles left, I think I’m staying with Ify at $13 a swap w/balance.....

I don't blame ya, I'm still young and stubborn, plus I think it's $20 each here... we'll see how imbalanced they are when I'm done... :). I keep telling myself I'm not going to do tires myself anymore but here I am...

I tell ya, this beats the heck out of breaking the beads with the punch deal and a sledge hammer and using like 3 tire irons...

When I was young, I’d have had to save $12.50 of that $13 no matter how many scraped knuckles and how much time. My gray hairs tought me this: first, hunt around for a no-name mom & pop shop on the poor side of town. They’ll do it for $13. Second, instead of breaking your knuckles and back ā€œsaving money,ā€ pay the $13 and figure out how to make another $10 per.

I do real estate, so I can talk out of both sides of my mouth, and sometimes out of my A**, and if you’ve seen my threads, I’m doing a lot of my work myself. But it’s my hobby, not out of necessity. But tires (like house painting), šŸ¤” hmmm, the percentages don’t add up. Right now you could sell your ā€œimprovedā€ changer for $50-60, and get 4 mounted while you sip champagne!

Having said that, I do respect and admire you for getting the damn thing and figuring out how to use it!!!

Lifted the wiper blades up because its snowing, again, and I will need to fetch kid in the morning. I don't want to fight with them being frozen to the windshield when I go to clean it off.

Finished playing with tires today, now I have two tires on Jeep alloy's that are wider than I expected since the 225's look narrower than the wheels? The other two turned out to be first/second gen Ranger steel wheels... at least one of those had a beauty ring on at some point since it's all scratched up from it... Anywho, the passenger Hankook's do have better traction than the LT Cooper M+S, must be the better siping and softer sidewalls...

a deer slammed into me last night and shattered half my grill and part of my headlight bezel in my 89.... :(

Today I fixed a flat tire on the car trailer and hooked it on the '150... for the betterment of the ranger.

gently placed the 347 in the frame rails of the 99. only took 2 tries, backwards engine plate, and a little more heating/shaping to the heater box! but its in, hopefully for last time. ill work on clutch, bellhousing, and tranny tomorrow. I AM STOKED!

No pics today due to phone dying however i bought the 83 ranger some new parts, a 94 explorer sport 5sp, not running im guessing from description that the intake gasket is shot, and i also got a 91 4dr explorer lots of miles but runs, auto trans, suprisingly the sport has a perfect drivers door card that is a perfect match for my original sport, beats paying hundeds for an almost match online, both rigs are going to get completely striped of all good parts, however i might try to get the sport running first since it probably got100000 less miles.

Hauled some venison.

More baby steps. I found the leak in the 87 4wd brake line. It’s up behind, inverted, left hand, around the back and can only be accessed with a ladder through the dome light. How come the leak is never in the open spot? I ordered all the new lines...

I pulled the rear end cover, was going to pull the leaky side axle, but never got that far.

I cleaned up the shed of miracles a little, and did some more painting: diff cover and bolts, and a trailer hitch and tire carrier I got at the pullapart. A 14ā€ steelie I got for a spare, some tools and trays.

Washed my new bed on a balmy 9* morming.

You mean Celsius, right? Almost hit 60deg F here today. Took the dog for a hike.

By the time I got to the end of a fender it was frozen where I started.

Warmer climates are sounding better all the time.
