What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

On wet pavement up to 45mph it should even be fine, likely only minor extra tire wear.

When you drive on the beach here it's typical to drop down to 5-10psi. But, you only do 20mph at best They have air stations on the road right off the beach so you can air back up before getting back on the main road.

I've seen some fancy Rubicons and other ridiculous offroad vehicles get stuck in the first 100 feet of turning onto the sand because they were too stupid or lazy to get out and air down first. You don't take ANYTHING on the beach without airing down. the difference between 35psi and 10psi is the difference between getting burried up to the frame rails, and enjoying a leisurely ride.

how's the fabric holding up on your Shelterlogic?
looks similar to Harbor Freight, which kind of falls apart after 1-1/2 years.

I have a shelter logic, the fabric lasts me about 2-3 years before I need to start patching it. 4 years and its more duck tape than shelter...

I made my bed tilt back, and changed the color of a spare emblem I had laying around.

My canopy carport just ripped in half. Yesterday.

Mine stood up to a catagory 3 hurricane just fine. It's the sun that destroys it...

Same here about 2yrs, I opted for xtra warranty through Amazon, going through process of upgrading to a heavier cover now

It’s coming together. I’ve dug into the two projects and I’ve been scavenging Craigslist for wheels and tires and other stuff for the projects (Within my zero budget). I scored an almost new set of Milestar 235/75-15 bsw road tires, 4 ten inch offset outlaw rims, etc. I got a great set of used 15 inchers for the ‘93 donar for when I’m finished with it.

Tonight I pulled all the wheels (24 with replacements) off the 87 4wd Rick-storation truck, the ‘93 donar, and ‘97 Rick’s Ranger Rig. I also put the first coat of Rick-stoleum on the steelies I’m going to use on the ‘87 Rick-storation and matching trailer ( After water blasting, wire brush, primer, etc.). I loaded it all into Big Red (F250). Going to see Iffy* tomorrow to swap them all around for $7 each.

Q: should I patent my tire stem masking device?

*Iffy seems like a very appropriate name for the tire guy helping with these projects...

Oh, & two-core radiators came in this week for 97 and 87. & I’ll check/update brake pads/shoes while the wheels are off. I had to get 4 extra jack stands off Craigslist ($23) to raise them all up at once (I only had six).

87 brake steel lines have a “Titanic“ finish (a result I don’t want to duplicate), so I’ll be swapping them. I love rustoleum, but there are limits...

Soooo, 87 should be roadworthy by Christmas (my gal is de-lighted in this holiday season!).

It'll do for now...

Definitely more comfortable now and having some extra storage space makes a world of difference in a regular cab...

Hauled a rolling Horrible Freight toolbox home.... they conveniently loaded it with a forklift, uh.... now what? Should have checked the weight! Think I can get it out with ramps..... looks like about 350 pounds or so....
