What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

New front skid plate installed.

We broke out the Halloween decorations. My little one decide the Ranger needed some decorations. So she brought me 2 skeletons to put on the truck.

Winterized it today.
This means installing winter wiper blades (it needed new ones anyway) and sandbags in the bed covered with the wood deck I built last year.
Finished just before the serious wind and rain started today.

The FX4 is back to it's original configuration before it was being setup for overlanding, except for the drawer system. That was left in and is holding all the stuff that used to be jammed in the netting on the roof.

Conveniently, the cubbies on the sides behind the wheel wells hold the big HF tire inflator, windshield washer fluid jug, bottle jack, and a small bag tool bag with the cargo straps in it. So, better vision to the rear and I can store more stuff that won't be bouncing and sliding around in the bed. Win- win!

Using a Livernois "MyCalibrator" tuner at 11K miles, I re-flashed my `23 XL's 2.3L ECU with their 91/93 octane turbo tune. I thought the process was a little complicated but, by carefully following their instructions, I had no problems--their software worked well. I've only made one brief test run but the performance, throttle response and transmission shifts are *GREATLY* improved and I'm stoked. The lightweight, 2WD Ranger now runs the way I think it should...! An extra 100 ft/lbs of torque, 53 RWHP and snappy shifts make it quick. Driving is really going to be fun now. :p
In today's world of declining customer service, Livernois was totally excellent with communications, response times and technical expertise. I happily recommend them.

How did you get it lean like that with no one in it? 😂😂😂

Nice, I’ve been thinking about getting the Livernois tune or the Ford Performance tune. You may have swayed my decision.

The only thing about getting a tune, you might be roped in to only being able to use 91 or 93 octane fuel. If the increased cost doesn't bother you, then go for it.

One thing to consider if you still have a warranty. The Ford tune, installed by a dealer, won't void your warranty. If you no longer have a warranty, then it won't matter.

Dumb question, what are winter wipers?

I’m well outside of my warranty at this point and 1 of the things that could be better is the shift points. The skipping of gears feels weird

There are two types.

The original type that used the classic "bridgework" structure and were covered in a rubber wrap.

The other is the blade type where there is no "bridgework", just a blade with metal reenforcement along the spine of the blade and an attachment point for the wiper arm.

Even though the latter is becoming pretty much the normal equipment, some still call them winter blades.

In either case, steps were taken to prevent ice build up on support structure that can make the wiper blade not maintain proper contact with the windshield.
