What can I substitute in place of a pickle fork?

Haha alright fair enough, but the proper tools are inexpensive and worth adding to your collection IMO. But like everyone else said just rent them. :icon_thumby:

Haha, saw pickle fork on the thread name and thought this was going to be a thread about food and fine dining. Don't think there is a pickle fork in fancy resaurants though, come to think of it. Whatever. I live off of Ramen and frozen chicken patties, I don't know anything about fine dining.

Our family compromised on it and decided:
Any old fork is acceptable as long as it is fresh and clean. You may NOT use the fork you have been eating with. You may NOT use your fingers (except on picnics).
I will make a note to get at least one pickle fork if we win the lottery.

And in an emergency or survival situation, it is acceptable to eat pickles with a toothpick. Using the fingers are the last resort, and of course they should be washed or sprayed with WD-40 first.

dude , for the 15 bucks its gonna cost you to get the press, its well worth making it an hour job instead of a weekend job, seriously, and you can use the tool for so much, u joints, all kinda crap

I used an old radius arm as a pickle fork when I jacked up the splines on my drive shaft...
