you need the one out of a fx4 ranger. the xplorer axle will need new perches and any other 8.8 out of a non fx4 ranger will be a 28 spline.
the stang axle is set up for coils if im not mistaken.

Try and snag one with a torson differential an easy way to tell is if it is an 2002 FX4 or a 2003+ FX4 Level 2. However, I believe the FX4 level 1 could be ordered with the upgraded axle.

If you want the 31 spline then you either need an exploder 8.8, 2002 FX4, or 2003+ FX4 Level II. 2003+ FX4's are 28 spline also.
