hmm, I wonder if I can brave the wind to try grillin outside already.... a little too cold and windy for my bones yet.

Since this is a thread about trying new recipe's I got to ask, anyone watch cooking shows when you were a kid (nothing better on the whopping 4 channels we got in the country) - Julia Childs kinda stuff... I have yet to try her boeuf bourguignon .... it's on my someday list... not much of a fine french chef - more a bbq, bacon, and burgers guy.

I use to watch the cooking shows on public TV when younger. That turn into the Food Network in my older years.

Most of what I know just came from being in the kitchen while parents and grandparents made dinner. I had to start cooking pretty early after the parents divorced. Mom worked a mid shift and wasn't home at dinner time most nights.

I get much of my inspiration watching the likes of triple D... triple G... and Bobby Flay. I dont always have an endless food budget so I do a lot of improvising with what's on hand.

We probably haven't eaten out 10 times in the last year... my wife doesn't cook so it falls on me. I really don't mind... I love to cook and love to cook for others.

I seldom watch cooking shows. My wife was the default cook. When the boys were still at home she cooked nightly when I worked, but I cooked on weekends. Since she passed away I cook daily. I love cooking Mexican, Thai, and Bar-B-Q. Cooking for one means leftovers 2 out of 3 nights. Uncle Gump has his mojo working!

My love for cooking grew out of my love for eating… which would be fine if I also had a love for exercising.

Portion controlled left over spaghetti for lunch. The wife is making us eat whole wheat pasta these days... not nearly as good as the real stuff.

:iamwithstupid: Except I’m blessed with a naturally high metabolism and like working on stuff so I’m always busy and that’s enough to keep me from getting too fat. Plus I don’t really care for sweets…

It's Turkey Taco Tuesday... on Wednesday here tonight. Grandma Gump said so.

Yes Granny...

add a glass of red vino and you have about half of my post college bachelor meals....
(gump slipped in there so now my post is out of order.... wine/cheese/crackers/summer sausage)
