Baby Back ribs. Zero fat when they were done. Almost an hour on the steam grill, probably should have been the 40-50 minute range. Eat your hearts out.:drool:
 
That's tomorrow's dinner... just too hot today to fire up the Weber. Tomorrow suppose to be a bit cooler. But yours look pretty good.

Tonight it's a frozen pizza... and going for ice cream cone in an hour or two.
It was hot here, but my uncle is over and the last two times we got ribs from the local place they were under cooked and not good. So, I gave it a go. My first try, but my friend Lisa has done a few experimental racks and we’ve learned.
 
Baby backs...

I always do mine wet... love when the sugars in the sauce caramelize and burn a bit. To me that's BBQ...

Sweet Baby Ray's "sweet and spicy " if anyone wonders. They make another called Cola-Q. Hard to find but amazing.

More work than its worth I think. Tho I did find my electric juicer, that helped speed it up. Its the peeling of the citrus that slows it way down.
Not pictured is 8 x 500ml water bottles filled with orange juice and frozen.

@Uncle Gump,

So I had chopped onions around the ribs, seasoned the ribs, and I had a bunch of butter in the foil packet. Plus my grill has a sort of steam tray that I filled with water and cooked it that way. I had intended to add the garlic before closing the packet but forgot. Used Kinders Hickory and Brown Sugar bbq sauce. There’s apparently a ton of different ways to do it. This was a modification of the method my friend Lisa has been using, kinda put my own spin on it. Also I pulled the membrane off the bone side of the ribs, rubbed them down with some lemon juice (lime juice was the recommendation I had seen but I only had lemon on hand) and put them back in the fridge for an hour before slathering them with liquid garlic butter and dumping seasoning on. Used like 6 different seasonings and threw some extra chunks of stick butter in the packet. They stayed nice and juicy and all of the fat rendered out.

Been wanting a kamado/ceramic egg grill. Currently use both propane or charcoal depending on well....
Anyone have 1? Thoughts?

I've never had one since I can't see spending that kind of money on a grill but everything I've seen and heard on them has been positive. The off brands that copy them, not so much. The metal attachments have had a lot of complaints concerning their durability and corrosion.

If you grill a lot, the price might worth it.

Yes they are. But in my area there is 3 kamado joe2s and and one joe3 on marketplace for 600 or less. I could justify 500 for a slightly used 1200+ grill if they are worth it. That's about what I paid for the propane/charcoal combo,($429) it's been great for going on 7 years now.

There might be a good reason why people are getting rid of them.

Used price is better then new...

I've never used one... or been anywhere someone had one. So I have no comments on their worthiness. The new price scared me away when I was looking.

Other then a few years with a propane grill... I've had a Weber for 30 plus years. My current one is probably 5 years old and I suspect it might be the last one I buy. I would like a Weber Smokey Joe... much less charcoal use for just the wife and i.
