What’s for dinner tonite!

My wife doesn't like grits very much... so I don't make them.

I like em with a dab of butter... salt pepper and couple over easy eggs on top.

That said... next trip to the store I'm gonna pick up some and try to sneak them into a couple meals.

Cook up a good shrimp-n- grits dinner. She'll have to like that. Nobody can hate on shrimp-n-grits.

Since grits were covered. My Mom used to make what she called Fried Mush. Actually it was either cooked Cream of Wheat or cornmeal poured into a bread pan and refrigerated. She would slice it up and fry it, served with butter and syrup. We all loved her Depression Era Recipes. Anyone ever had it?

I have fried leftover grits. Generally, I just don’t have grits leftover to be fried.

Leftover porridge (oatmeal) gets fried up the next morning.

Cream fo wheat was something my nom always made. We never had it fried though. Sound good. I love cream if wheat
