well.... i rolled the ranger!

Yeah I hear you about the hard to find bit.

I can't even find a decent bed at Gary's U Pull It. They had an 01 or 02 there last time I was there, but someone yanked the bed off and it was all scraped up.

I have a hard to find color too, I think we have the same color. Paint code EG?

Wow man, glad your alright. Thats a fairly easy fix but check the frame when you have the bed off. A hit that hard might have tweaked it.

Also, dont forget to check that other stuff like leaf spring hangers and such that might have been rusted and may have partially failed when you wrecked.

Yeah, thats about how it works. I stop and help alot of slide-ins this time of year. I cant do much pulling out with my 2WD, but I help get someone who can, and have ran quite a few people to the hospital. All the time I hear "I've been here for half an hour and your the first one to stop." People just assume help is on its way. I dont want to read about someone I could have helped in the paper the next day.

I always stop and help or offer a ride, i think it pays off, for when i get stranded i've always had people stop for me. my girlfriend refuses to stop even when i'm with her and she never had a single person ever offer her help. she'll learn one of these days it's always me needing to come to her rescue.

Wow, that sucks, but it's good you're alright. Looks like you got pretty lucky as far as damage goes too.

Damn, lucky SOB. Glad your OK and at least you didn't have to pay for a tow on top of all the damages!:icon_thumby:

thanks guys...

yep, same color. actually, its one of the most common colors on the road, but for some reason, never in a junkyard? maybe they last longer! lol.

thanks man. the shackles and hangers were all brand new last year, and they appear to be undamaged. im lucky enough to work in a shop with an allignment machine and a bodyshop with a frame machine, which all turned out to be ok.

actually i had to pay the tow truck to winch it right side up. three fullsize chevys got stuck in the field trying to get close enough. the tow truck had a 300ft winch cable so it could do it from the opposite road. my truck later embarassed the chevys by driving out of the ditch (after it just rolled) that they all got stuck in. lol.

I do see tons still driving, there's three in my town and two in the next one over.

There was an XLT in our with a silver quarter panel scheme at Gary's last year, long gone by now. I took a shift linkage out of it, but left it setting on a windstar by accident. Haven't seen a A4LD 3.0 or an EG code there since.

Maybe it has something to do with our area?

I think part of the reason is that everything up your way rusts away into a pile of dust after a few years and is immediately crushed.

It's actually getting hard to find 1st gen parts out here. Had to go to four junkyards to find one driveshaft yesterday. Too much old iron getting shipped to china these days...I'm glad that the one junkyard in the area with only stuff from the 20's to the 60's isn't crushing any of it.

I LOVE GOING THERE JUST TO LOOK AT THE OLD STUFF. AND MY BED HAD NO RUST ON IT WHEN I ROLLED IT!

Caps lock rocks.

Haha.

Where's Lantz's?

haha, its my stupid work computer... its had a caps lock problem for 2 years now, turns on and off at will, lol. lantzs is in the town of maine, about 2mins from my house.... do you know where oakdale mall is? its about 5 miles from there.

I might end up checking that out next time I'm in the area.

Try finding 2-piece out here. :annoyed: I had to drive with a bent one for a few months until I swapped in my 8.8. That crap sucked.
