Welding on a swaybar


there was only one body panel that didn't have rust holes in it, the roof.

thats the only one that matters if it has holes in it, yes? :D

if you weld this sway bar, clamp several vice grips onto the bar between the end, where your welding, and the rest of the bar. they will help act like a crude heat sink and stop at least some of the heat from reaching the rest of the bar.

i still dont think its a good idea. a sway bar may not be considered a critical suspension component but consider the fact that the sway only sees stress around corners. so if its going to fail, it'll fail while cornering. the sudden release of tension while in a corner has the potential to be very dangerous.
