Welded Rear

I've seen people just use pieces of steel wedge in between the spider gears to help reinforce. Just make sure you weld the spider gears all the way around.

Google has some good pictures and you could find more there too if you search.

Ya just search up pictures. We do all of our mud trucks, and I did it on my daily driver as well. Just weld the spider gears up good and solid. Make sure to not get any on the shafts though if you keep them in there while welding. I always found a stick welder as the best for it, just adds a little more splatter though

Sorry to jack the thread, but is it also do-able/recommended on a '93 4x4 ranger used as a Daily??

Ya just like wicked and pale said. Not very safe at all nor reliable. I just did mine for the hell of it cuz I thought it was fun, got kind of annoying on pavement turns like a spool does. Never had the gears let loose though cuz that rear end wend through some rough stuff.

But I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone to do to their DD unless they really know what they are getting into, cuz it could also leave you stranded on the road at any sec if those gears decide to let loose on ya
