weigh em' in

alright on my buddies 1996 ranger (single cab, short bed, 5 speed, 2.3) the door sticker that says it weighs ~4200 lbs

on my 2003 ranger (single cab, short bed, 5 speed, 2.3) the door sticker says it weighs ~4300 lbs

the LIMA motor in my buddies truck is cast steel (right?) vs. my aluminum duratec.... shouldnt that mean my motor is (probably) lighter???

wheres this ~100 extra pounds on my truck come from??

The Door sticker NEVER quotes weight.

It quotes MAXIMUM weight.

If you want to know what it actually weighs take it to a scale...
Find some metal junk put it in the back of your truck and take it to the enarest commercial metal recycler, and you'll KNOW what your truck weighs...

And get PAID to find out to boot...

I still feel it's lightweight. It's definitely not flimsy - wrong choice of words. My '98 Taco was flimsy....

too late, your ranger is sad :bawling:

i weighed mine at a local grain elevator during off-hours. the scale is usually left on and the display is visable through the window. my truck is a 5040 gvwr and weighs in at 4300 pounds as equipped. i never thought to weigh it before i added the grille guard, step bars ect. and it had a cap and reese hitch when i bought it.
