Water leak, drivers side

So, does anyone know if there is a known leak cause on the drivers side that causes the floor to get wet. I don't see anything dripping, the carpet just gets soaked when it rains, and I mean SOAKED. The windshield was replace a few years ago and I was hoping that would fix it, but no.....Does the windshield wiper linkage penetrate the interior? I have caulked the windshield and the gutters. There was a small hole under the gutter right up front by the windshield and I chipped away the rust and stuffed the hole with silicone and I still have a sea under my feet when it rains.

Any Ideas?

pull the carpet up. mine did the same and there was a pretty big hole on the floor board.

I have the same issue, but I know mine is somewhere on the firewall because the water accumulates on top of my floor mat. I'm wondering if there's an area prone to leaking?

I had this same problem with my black 94. I found that the seal around the heatercore cover was allowing the water to roll around back into the cab. The water from the wipercal drains into the heater box and out thru the cover. You can also get mud in there!!! I fixed my black ranger with a new rubber seal that I made. Also I added a piece of heater hose to the nipple(its under the heater box in the engine bay) to make it drain lower. The hose was hard to get on. But that might work by itself.

My Ranger is 1983 and has real solid floors, still have all the paint on them. It accumulates water when it is sitting still in the driveway while it rains. I never see any dripping. My initial thought was that is must be entering through a seam in the body work and running down the post between the door and the windshield. As yet I am completely un-aware of what is under the slotted panel directly in front of the windshield. Is that panel removeable? I don't have a lot of rust issues with my ride, but I suppose there could be something that I haven't seen since I haven't even looked under that slotted panel (what's it called?)

That cowl (the slotted panel) is what I was talking about. Unfortunately, it's not removable.

It's known to cause some problems...Especially in our 1st gens. The rain gutters that channel the water from that cowl rot or the seam sealers on them rot. Usually because leaves get down inside, clog it and the water sits. It really sucks..I know this because I also have the problem (mines an 87) I've been seeing a bit of water trickle from under the dash and rolling onto the floor.

Run a hose down inside it and have a look. That or wait for a hard rain and look at it.

Like you I also have solid floors. One of the reasons why this rust bothers me so much...I plan to take care of it pretty soon here when I pull the carpet.

I found a strange leak the other day.
My '88 started getting wet last winter and I couldn't for the life of me find it.
Well besides condensation, the truck sits out and doesn't get used everyday, I noticed a small line of water running down the back wall
from under the double steel.
It seems to be coming from the slider seal, but I haven't found where as yet, it's all frozen solid now. But it has been running down and soaking the carpet.

I guess I have to pull the shell again and check the drain holes on the rear slider and squirt in some sealer of some kind.

I had a leak that would soak my front floor board too. figured out it was my back glass. The front floor boards is the lowes part of the floorboard so it would accumluate there.

That is exactly where it ends up in my truck. Now the floor mats are frozen to the carpet.

Tylork, where was your leak and did you fix it?

it was the back glass seal. just took it out, resealed it and replaced it...alls good now. had to change my carpet tho as it would never dry and began to mold.
