I have 8 hole Alcoa's wheels on my 97 Ranger, it appears that there are supposed to be washers on the wheels. Can anyone verify?

dont remember any ranger having special lugnuts. any 1/2 x 20 60 deg should work.
maybe the early ones could have had a different thread but not that i recall.
