ok heres something for you religious thinkers (pretty much asking you doorgunner and adsm) lol

im a firm believer in god and im a good person, so i plan on making my way to heaven. (unless god forbid im sent down south).

so ive been told when i was younger that in heaven, everyone will know eachother.

soooo. say were in heaven, and i come across you DG, or adsm, we are supposed to know eachother right? so would we be able to realize that we also met over TRS?

i know it sounds kinda cheesy, but somethin to think about

Boggin,

The first thing you want to look at is your view of what it takes to get into heaven. Believing in God or being a good person or doing good things will not get you into heaven. To get to heaven you must be saved. To be saved you must confess to Jesus (not Heysoos as dg would say) with your lips that you are a sinner and repent of your sins (denounce and give them up) and confess that you believe that He died on the cross for our sins and that you accept His Gift of salvation. Only then are you born again and will see heaven when you die.

This is a gift given by Jesus(not heysoos) and can never be earned or bought.

That being said, to answer your question yes we will know each other but it will not be from our earthly lives as that will not matter in heaven.

Hope this helps...

Some scriptural references for my above post:
John 3:16
John 14:6
Romans 3:19-31. Pay special attention to verses 23 and 24.
the book of Romans is a good look at what happens when you reject God.

Another thought for you: do not just take my or dg or adsm oranyones words on this. Look it up for yourself.

Hey Hey, why is Lima Bean Banned??

He posted "hey hey" in one too many posts...lol

Not sure...but if you check his posting history, read his last few posts...it may have something to do with that...

So then if the me from earth doesn't go up, what is the big deal about eternal life? My body would be gone obviously, and if whatever made me me (not sure of the proper term) doesn't go either... so then what is left for me to worry about? I don't think there is a whole lot left of me to make the trip...

Being saved is like being pregnant...you are or you aren't. If did salvation prayer when you were a child, you will have to do it again, as you were no to the age of accountability when you first did it. (In other words not yet responsible for your own actions) a good rule of thumb is that if you have any doubts, you probably aren't saved.

Ranger,

When a saved person dies, his soul/spirit goes immediately to heaven. He or she is in this state without a body until after Jesus (not heysoos) returns for the millenial reign. Then the soul gets a new heavenly body fthat does not age or get sick. As I understand it thsoe that are disabled during their life on earth will not be in heaven.

But the personality part of my soul/spirit has been shaped by my life experiances. It is the part of me that makes me me. If I don't know anyone or anything from my time on Earth I think I would just be a blank spirit...

The disabled part doesn't make any more sense than anything else.

So pretty much only those that are killed instantly in the prime of their life go heaven? Guess I had better trade in my trucks for a rusty old Pinto so I don't have to worry about limping away from a wreck and becoming disabled... :icon_idea:

The more I find out about it the more I get confused. Nothing new, I did a lot of headscratching in Sunday school, Confirmation and Church. Dunno if I try to think into it too much or what. So just pray when I need to, try to be good and confess when I screw up and I know it.

+1, if in heaven we are supposed to be perfect and no sickness or aging, why cant the disabled people be there and be non-disabled. i doubt our god would leave the disabled people aside

Wow igoofed that up...what I meant to say is those that are disabled on earth will not be disabled in heaven. (The whole are you saved thing applied tho..)

Sorry for the confusion on that.

AJ

yeah that seems like it would make more sense.

thanks for the little lesson AJ!

O.K Fellas......here's the scoop..........Like you guys said......our life experiences have shaped our minds/attitudes......

That's why Jesus (no....not Heysooz) has to give us a clean slate...think about it....

That's why you get a group of christians together, and a debate on theology breaks out (or worse)...

Doing good things won't earn us a trip to heaven...Believing in Jesus(no...not Heysooz) and obeying HIM gets us into Heaven....if we love Jesus, we'll feel the need to help others when the occasion arrises--and we'll do it without expecting anything in return while we're living on earth at the present time.
We accept certain ideas/theologies....reject certain ideas/theologies because of what we've been thru on this planet...good decisions/bad decisions all take place because of life experiences (Example: I"ll NEVER stick the end of my finger in the hole on the frame to line up the hangar bracket when doing a hangar/shackle flip.......EVER AGAIN).

But in Heaven.....things are different.....very different....but absolutely great....

Also, we will have our same bodies in Heaven....but our bodies will be perfected.....for those of us with sickness/disabilities....we too will have our bodies perfected.

Annnnd there's more good news for those who have lived long enough to see their bodies getting some wear & tear.....we ALL...will be perfected AND 20 years old again.....those babies who were aborted will grow to the age of 20 (if their mothers get to go to Heaven, their mothers will be able to watch their babies grow up). Same thing with anyone who is killed/dies before the age of 20.....all their friends & loved ones who went to Heaven will be able to catch up on the lost time). Us old folks will have our olllllllld bodies perfected--no more aches/pains/missing parts/etc.. So don't look around for your favorite 85 year old granma/granpa.....their gonna be 20 years old & happy as can be.....

Everybody will know everybody......everybody will care equally for everybody.

As for possessions, God will give us each the desires of our hearts--gifts that we never could afford on earth/gifts we loved on earth, but wore them out/gifts we never dreamed of that will last forever.....that's F O R E V E R...

You don't have to be killed instantly to get to Heaven.....Jesus healed disabled people on earth/why wouldn't he do the same for everyone in Heaven?......

Our souls look IDENTICAL to our bodies...but in Heaven our souls are perfected, so that on the Last day, our earthly bodies will be transformed as they rise up from the earth to join our heavenly souls again.

There's lots more....this was just cliffnotes on what God/Jesus/HolySpirit/Heaven is like...it would take a book as thich as an encyclopedia to cover what we've discussed in this post.....

I just heard some guy on the radio that's given up his job, wife, son, and home because he is so enthralled in this mess. What I find to be most amazing about this deal, is these guys are literally claiming to have outsmarted God by "decoding" the Bible.
