nice looking rig too.
Thank you. I’ll install the winch this weekend. Just looking for opinions on control box location. My son said by putting the control box on the bumper I’d be flexing the brand. I just laughed.

every warn i have had was stolen. so...get a harbor fright sticker for it.

That would be difficult. It will be inside the bumper with skid plates covering. Difficult but I recognize not impossible.

I'll second what Bobby said about making it accessable where ever you put it.

That said IMO, from an aesthetics POV...

On the old school winches, like the 8274, make them visible. If they're on an appropriate old school truck, then they're works of art that need to be displayed. That's the plan for the one on the F-100 when the truck (and winch) gets restored.

On these modern winches, hide them. If I get modern off road bumpers and a modern winch on any of mine, the winch will be tucked in behind the bumper and the control box will be hidden. That goes against make it assessable rule, but I'll just have to bitch at myself later for not listening.

I prefer hidden but the cover for the bumper I have is easy enough to remove if there was a problem with the control box.
