Walmart all vehicle trans fluid

I was at Walmart the other day and saw some transmission fluid that claimed to work in most any transmission, has anyone tried this? I have a 2000 3L ranger I’m currently putting a transmission in and will need to fill it up soon and would be interested to try it

The valvoline red jug multi vehicle is good stuff, I know I've bought it at wally world... they have the supertec dex/merc fluid as well which is likely the right stuff if I remember right.

A 2000 requires Mercon V fluid. The only “universal” stuff that I’ve seen that is supposed to be fine for that is the Valvoline red jug multi-vehicle stuff. Anything else is likely Dex/Merc and not what your transmission specs.

Use the right Motorcraft fluid. There is no such thing as universal ATF that has the correct additives for every transmission. When I retired in 2017 we had 8 different fluids for just Ford transmissions, Ford would not spend the money to produce them if one fluid would do the job.
